How to Install YSFlight

Post by YSFHQ » Wed Nov 11, 2020 1:00 am

Installing YSFlight is straight forward, but depending on your operating system it is a little bit different.

Windows Computers
Step 1 - Download YSFlight
Download YSFlight from ysflight.org. It is recommended that you use the 20150425 version of YSFlight for stability and server compatibility reasons.

Step 2 - Unzip and Run the Download
Extract SETUP.exe to your desktop and run it. Select the install location and follow the prompts.
If SETUP.exe fails to run, rename it to SETUP.zip and open with 7Zip or Winrar and drag the files to your desired installation folder. (Winzip, built into Windows, may be unable to correctly extract the files.)

Step 3 - Open YS Flight
Run ysflight32_d3d9.exe, ysflight32_gl1.exe, or ysflight32_gl2.exe. Each a different visual renderer with slight differences. One .exe may run better on your computer than others. Most users find D3d9 has the highest framerate. ysflight32_nownd.exe is for running a server.
To fully initialize everything, open YSFlight and check out some of the other Getting Started Guides.
