500lb General Purpose Bombs
Weapon: 500lb General Purpose Bomb
Target Set: Unguided bomb. Good for strong targets such as large buildings and ships, as well as closely grouped targets, such as tanks.
Aim method: CCIP (Constantly computed impact point) pipper, and targeting diamond in the bombing radar display.
Minimum safe altitude at 350 kt: 380ft over land, approx. 80ft over water.
The bombing CCIP - place the center of the cicle over your intended target.
The bombing radar display. The diamond between the parallel lines indicates the locations where your bombs will fall.

This tactic works well with the 500lb bomb as well.Phoenix wrote:A tactic that works, get down on the deck so the AAA can't hit you.
When the aimer is on the target, drop, roll 90 degrees and pull hard. This way no altitude is gained so AAA can't hit you, and you are also safe from your own bomb.
