250lb General Purpose Bomb
Weapon: 250lb General Purpose Bomb
Target Set: Unguided bomb. Good for strong targets such as large buildings and ships, as well as closely grouped targets, such as tanks.
Aim method: CCIP (Constantly computed impact point) pipper, and targeting diamond in the bombing radar display.
Minimum safe altitude at 200kt: 160ft over land, approx. 40ft over water.
This bomb is quite useful for older planes, as it combines a measure of the low speed, low altitude safety of an HD bomb with the accuracy of the 500lb weapons. It lacks the 500lb general purpose bomb's punch and blast radius - something to keep in mind when attacking clumped targets, or particularly strong targets. For small targets, the 250lb bomb is an ideal weapon.

Re: 250lb General Purpose Bomb
When the aimer is on the target, drop, roll 90 degrees and pull hard. This way no altitude is gained so AAA can't hit you, and you are also safe from your own bomb.
