Paratroopers/Cargo Drop

Post by vmateen » Mon Jun 27, 2016 5:51 pm

Does anyone know of any planes that simulate dropping cargo?

I think the BNI pack's Ospreys look amazing plus they have troops in the back, it would be awesome to have a plane that can simulate dropping troops or cargo off!

I'm unaware of any planes that do this but I guess you can stimulate cargo or troop drops by using a cargo or troop model/dnm to replace let's say the high drag 500lb bomb.

I think there was an aircraft in the Ganja Gang or WicWorks pack that had crates come out on parachutes when you pressed a button. There was also a C-17 I made a loooong time ago that had parajumpers jump out the back when the cargo door opened. I think that was in an early VFA-49 pack, not great by todays standards but fits what you're looking for at least.

Just pop flares and pretend that they are navy seals

yes, As sierra mentions, you can modify the flare to a navy seal and pop them out, by giving them a velocity and direction :)

Maybe hd bomb .srf can be modified to make a paratroopers since you don't need a bombing sight for paratroopers :)

I know there are paratroopers, that you can control.
Don't know how you would get them to work, so they can 'jump' from an aircraft, though.
Maybe start them on one of the 10.000 ft spots. Then fly the aircraft through the same spot, while opening the door. As a second 'pass'. The same way you do it, to get multi aircraft display teams, flown by one person.
Fliped out of the arena, again! :(

Its also possible use trick with "flying carrier deck" (look in stock "SLAPSTICK" scenery).
Few things that would need then:
1) create carrier ground object that will look like aircraft
2) create motion path in the sky and snap its carrier to this path
3) create "Paratrupers" ground objects and place them on this carrier
