More specifically, about the community itself, like the old stories about the glorious battles of legendary squadrons and other stuff.

Re: [FILM] YSF: Your Single Flight
This would be a very interesting and ambitious project that I would be willing to help make. But it's important that we figure out what we want and need. While the professional documentary is very appealing, it just does not seem like it would happen. Something that would work better and could happen is perhaps a voiceover small documentary, or perhaps a trailer like video, but with some really professional shots and action.
Perhaps a miniature timeline of YSFlight history including all of these would make for a very interesting video that many would be willing to watch. My ideas:
1. The First Flight Of YS
2. The First Virtual Airlines & Squadrons
3. The Squadron Wars
4. The Battle Of The Airlines
5. The Airshow Era
6: Present Day Flying
It is also extremely important that it is well distributed and will get NEW PEOPLE to watch the video and WANT to play YSFlight. We need to get people to see this. We've got to put a lot of thought into this before we bust out the Windows Movie Maker and make a video in 5 seconds.
YSFlight might not be best of simulators and it may not have the best graphics. So odds are against us, but I think this would be a really good idea.

Re: [FILM] YSF: Your Single Flight
I just don't think the effort in doing so is practical for such a small community, unfortunately. I don't see how a very specific documentary video is going to make someone want to fly YSFlight. I think short gameplay produced videos on social media works best for this, honestly.
If you all pull off a fraction of this, I would be totally impressed. No one does anything for YSFlight anymore (besides create addons, which is great - just not everything).

Re: [FILM] YSF: Your Single Flight
Get someone to make an addon for people walking around in the sim, but have most of the scenes in the air.
And as Scarecrow said:
It seems that a fair number of people are too busy making addons to actually get on the sim and fly, which was what it was made for.Scarecrow wrote:No one does anything for YSFlight anymore (besides create addons)

2. Landing Competitions
3. Promotional Video of Addons
4. Show the simplicity of YSFlight
5. Show that the unique limit are the imagination (e. g. tigershark is doing exactly this)
6. There's 2 types of people:
normal people (Oh! Look an airplane) and airplane lovers (I don't need to say uh?)
So let's show to theses people how they can start in aviation using YSFlight, there's people that now are using FSX/P3D/ etc.
Another type is the currently website (http://www.ysflight.com) with sincerely respect this don't "attract the people", would be great if it was like the (http://www.ysflight.org) ones.
I now that YSFlight is a hobby/project of Capt. YS. It's not a big huge corporation with a lot of people, etc.
anyway

Re: [FILM] YSF: Your Single Flight
I think doing a few video clip remakes of Top Gun would be super cool. Do that.

I, personally, would have to 100% agree with what Scarecrow has to say. No one wants to sit down and enjoy a documentary about a sim they have never heard of and has a community with like 12 active members. It would be confusing and lacking of any interesting facts/statements that others want to take enjoyment out of, probably because they just don't care as much or they fly a different sim already.
For example, I don't see where the history of YS would go. Like, we haven't seen any major graphic improvements or coding modifications. We have OpenYS which is pretty cool, but talking stock YS wise, you're not going far.
If people decide to make this anyway, good luck. Just saying that the short length videos users are creating today already have it under control. Producing and editing a 40min/50min/1hr movie would be a major waste of your time.

Not just a microphone, but nowadays almost everyone has a phone that has a good camera.Lor599 wrote:Perhaps if we could get people to record themselves talking about YSFlight, we could create a documentary like feel to it, and not require a professional interview. If people would be willing to talk in a microphone about YSFlight that would be really good.
A series of shorter videos would work much better than a full length documentary. Every video would be about things that make YSF unique, there would be hype stuff like addons and gameplay, and interviews would make it look much more professional.

Re: [FILM] YSF: Your Single Flight
Think, structure could look like step-by-step demonstration of presented addons in combination of some visualisation of Soji lyfe story and its progress
Film may consist from 3 main story lines:
1. History of aviation
1.a - Ikar with wax wing
1.d - Ballons &
1.c - Wright flyer
1.d - ...
...
2. Soji Yamakawa and YSF development story
2.1 Born and school (idea of YSF)
2.2 School and University (first versions of YSF)
2.3 University and Work (Soji - real pilot, YSF - popular simulator)
...
3. YSFHQ and events story
3.1 - 2000-2011 period
3.2 - 2011-2015 period
3.3 - 2015-present time (VNAF AirShow, ADEX, etc.)
...

Re: [FILM] YSF: Your Single Flight
Heaven knows we need more people in the game. We could put the videos on an official YSF youtube channel, along with some tutorial videos.
