Livestream modding

Post by decaff_42 » Sat Sep 17, 2016 10:21 pm

Howdy folks,

I've been toying with the idea of doing a livestream event for an hour or two that would basically be one of two things:

(1) Me just working on a modding project and chatting
(2) Doing demos of how to do some particular thing in blender and answering questions.

If there is interest in this, do you guys have any recommendations for streaming services (preferably free) that can be used which would also save the video file?

I've used hitbox back when I used to do small streams back when around 2015 or so - I might want to start streaming and making YT Videos.

I use OBS for YouTube. OBS is a free software and has quite the features, like screen capture, webcam capture, etc.
May I suggest that there be a live stream of major YSF events? It will be awesome to have one.

This is one of the goals of the YS Marketing Team. OBS + Twitch is probably what we will do.

I wonder if OBS can feed two video streaming servers, because YouTube is well known in general and Twitch is well known for gamers. (YouTube Gaming is more famous?)

Reasonably sure that it can only feed one streaming service at a time. One could livestream the youtube livestream to twitch... :P

Well, I was able to do a 30 minute test live stream last night with OBS. It sounded like there was a lot of delay in the video/audio on Youtube, but that is kinda expected. Now I just need to figure out a time/topic to do the livestreams on! :D

I think younow has a screenshare type function for gaming. But it's mostly a cheesy teenager site so...

I could livestream events, given I can get NVidia Shadowplay to work for once.
