YSAV Digest
The Definitive Aviation Magazine - For YSFlight, The Community, and Beyond.

YSAV Digest is a Project of GrunSolutions' Media Division dedicated to bi-seasonal recaps of events in the community, as well as general information about the Game such as tips for combat, modding and even interesting stories from real life aviation, as well as other news that is relevant to aviation.

There will be 20 stories/articles written per issue, divided into three sections:

- Recent Events (12 stories)
- Advice and Tips (5 stories)
- Off the Tarmac (Real Life News) (3 Articles)

Members of the Community are welcomed to write Stories (Must be 1-2 pages in length, however, depending on the material, this rule may be waived.) for the magazine.

Slots for stories are first come first serve, and depending on what events take place during creation, some stories may be either pushed back to the next issue or dropped (dropped articles will only happen rarely.) Reasons for this may be a conflict breaking out, release of a new YSFlight Version, or any other high-importance subject.

Due to the size of the community, and due to GrunSolutions being the founding party for YSAV Digest, Conflict of interest will be present, however - we will strive to maintain objectivity as much as possible by telling both sides of the story.

The current Slots for the Winter Issue avaialble are as follows:
RECENT EVENTS:
Rising Tensions (Nodoka Hanamura*)
Rising from the Sun (Nodoka Hanamura*)
Unity in CivAv (Nodoka Hanamura)
Lightning Strikes? (Nodoka Hanamura*)
"New" on the Scene (Nodoka Hanamura*)
VNAF Airfest - Beauty over Vuelo (OPEN - Article on VNAF Airfest)
Mahora Air Festival - A Dream or Reality? (Nodoka Hanamura* - GrunSol's Airshow hurdles and aspirations.)
This Year in Aerobatics (OPEN)
YS Aerobatic Expo - Success off the Bat? (OPEN - Article on the YSAE, name is developmental, may be changed.)
EMPTY SLOT (???)
EMPTY SLOT (???)
EMPTY SLOT (???)
Advice and Tips:
Dogfighting Tips (Nodoka Hanamura)
??? (Decaff_42? - he has asked ahead for this slot.)
EMPTY SLOT (???)

Off the Tarmac:
Dreams over the Americas (OPEN - Article on the An-225 Mriya Flight to Brazil)
Trolls "in" the Tower (OPEN - Melbourne ATC Hijacking Incident)
D.B. Cooper - Hijacking Legend (Nodoka Hanamura - A look back at the cold case of D.B. Cooper, Responsible for the Hijacking of Northwest Orient Flight 305.)

Post feedback, comments and requests for slots and for features of the magazine below.

Our estimated release, given all goes well, will be after Christmas this year.

* Authors marked with a asterisk will use aliases for that story to better simulate a actual magazine.

I'm very excited for the release, because this will help us to get more involved on events of the YSFlight community in general. Nice way to promote YSFlight!

I would to like to ask if this YSAV Digest will have an website?

Depending on the interest, I may or may not purchase a domain for it, but until then, it'll probably be at ysavdigest.media.grunsol.com.

Unfortunately we do not support Scent over TCP/IP. We'll send a notice to the W3C and see if they can get on that.

So, the VFA-49 is not part of VNAF or Vetriti Narod. I would suggest finding a source for information or running things past other parties to make sure you pass correct information.

Also, missing an entire part of the community. How about getting two or even three aerobatics issues in there. We just had an air show and have another one coming up.

I think this could be good, given it is objective and takes input everyone (as in multiple authors). I think it can get a little weird with bias though.

I agree with VNAF, a look back to the recent airshows would be cool to see.

On the first bit, we kinda assumed mainly due to the fact VFA-49 really had no known assumed nationality, unless it's a Merc group like ours. It won't be a problem to adjust since I made it in Publisher. If you want to pass over information about to me in private (or make it public, so everyone knows the "in-world" history, like we have visible on our wiki page), by all means, I welcome revision - It'll help me know who I'm shooting at

And as for Aerobatics, given the amount of activity and the fact that I've got many of my own articles in this issue, I may bump the articles number to 20 so everyone can have a chance to make a article, and even give a chance for Aerobatics to shine in this issue.

As for Bias, I can understand this, and anyone is welcomed to contribute. YSAV Digest will strive for objectivity (Rising Tensions will go over both recent 49th attacks, as well as past GrunSol bombardments of the old 49th installation, as to make it known that the 49th assaults on Madobe NAS aren't unprovoked and make us look to be someone to feel sorry for (we kinda provoked the bear with this, to be frank), but we will make it known at the beginning that these magazines are created by GrunSol and there is CoI present, however they will be made present at the beginning of articles.

I don't think VNAF or any of us saw it that way, just make use of the wiki next time, and always feel free to PM VNAF or myself if you have a question.

Opening it up for the community to submit articles is a great idea. Looking forward to seeing budding YS journalists!

After seeing that the 49th has it's roots in the RPFW.. I'll need to do some digging.

It's going to be a e-magazine, but will be either released through ISSUU (or a other magazine distribution service) as well as available in PDF form through Google Drive.

The preliminary First pages have been finished, With the Contents not being complete. More will be added as articles are received.

Again, if you can type even decent english, You are welcome to contribute by either taking a open article or submitting your own.

Also - you lot better thank me if I get this done, Publisher is a nightmare to work with for god knows what reason, laggy and arrogant, is what it is.

I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!
