Expanding from YSFlight

Post by YSFan » Sat Nov 19, 2016 1:20 pm

I'm currently planning to expand E-Fair to include FS9 so more pilots will join which can be converted over to YSFlight. How best should I do this and should I even do this?

Although we haven't proven to make it work, GrunSol's expansion into Second Life is as simple as just setting up shop and putting your name out there.

A guide made by Ian Stephens, showns how to create an virtual airline, especially for FS9/FSX: https://flyawaysimulation.com/news/4494/

To be simple, the big differences are on softwares, YSFlight don't have the ACARS system, not VATSIM or IVAO, but both YSFlight and FS9/FSX can use the Phpvms sytem to help you manage your airline. The rest as fleet, route, are pratically the same.

Remember that if you open an sort of "division" for FS9, some of these pilots may not have interest on YSFlight :)

I've tried to open an FSX Division for Ysbra, but I've joined Max Freight VA

In my experience this can go one of two ways. Firstly, I've seen alot of groups spread themselves thin trying to make the most out of both games/platforms and their group winds up buying the farm because the quality dropped and little progress was made. Probably a more successful thing I've seen is spreading the group out a bit over several games, but making one game their primary platform. The outreach to these other games might not be as developed as your primary platform, but they can be useful to you because you can possibly attract people from the other community's to come to your primary division. Essentially, an advertising base.
