Woah.... My EYES!

Alright, so I was playing pretty late last night, and i decided to do night time flying

I get out my F-35 and load it up half with missiles, and half with 500lb bombs

I fly around for maybe 15 minutes in the dark, terrorizing villages and poor little peasants with the missiles (note: free aim with AAM, not AGM)

after I run out of the missiles, I switch to my guns and 500lb bombs. Upon approaching a dinky town, I let hell break loose with the 500s and BAM!
the whole sky turned like a weird pinkish color and spasmed a few times!

What the heck was that???

In ALL my years of playing YS, I have NEVER seen this before and I never even thought it could happen

It was a bit on the momentary side, it lasted for about 3 seconds, it almost looked like sickly negatives on a picture, except that ONLY the sky turned this color. My plane and everything else, just stayed the same.


BTW, the "I was playing pretty late last night" does not, in any way, have anything to do with this. I was completely conscious, I was not high, and I was not drinking any energy drinks or anything like that.

Fly the same map and try the same thing. See if you can reproduce the effect.

Never heard of any sky glitches before.

That may lead to a new lighting scenario if you can reproduce and isolate it.

Alright so I played for maybe an hour in the same spot, trying to recreate it and nothing.

I was kinda hoping that I would see it again, but no luck my friends.

In case youre wondering. I was using Hawaii, RW08-1 , and I was a little bit in the eastern part from that airport.

My guess is that it was just a glitch with your graphics card.

I suppose so, although, I've never had any problems with it, and it didn't affect the WHOLE screen, just the YS sky.

I recall Gunny once experienced a weird effect while flying in the Middle East map.


Maybe this is what it looks like, "a weird pinkish color".

You know I forgot all about that,it was caused by me changing to a different graphics card.It was a bad idea so I changed back and it never happened again but the colors where not just flashes but sustained and changed as my direction of flight changed and only on that scenery.

Thats almost exactly what it looked like, except just a brighter pink

and it wasn't constant, it was for maybe 3 seconds, and at night time.

its really strange, im not sure what happened, but as far as I'm aware, it hasn't happened anymore

So it was the same thing that Gunny experienced except a brighter pink and only lasted about 3 seconds.

Maybe it was a brighter pink because you were flying at night?

How long was your computer running for that day?

maybe 4 hours max.

Ive gone for much longer than that. I still haven't been able to recreate the same thing :/

I've seen similar things. Once I was flying on some Vegas map (no clue what the name of it actually was) and sort of glitched into the side of some building while flying right down the street. While I was inside the building, the sky changed color, which I obviously thought was just the building wall, but when I came back outside it changed color again to that light pink. Lasted about 3 seconds.

I personally think that the root of the problem is the Graphics Drivers themselves. I've been flying this sim on 4 different computers and laptops for 2 years now and thankfully never experienced anything like this.
