[MAY 27] Ramadan Flights Over the Mediterranean ATC Session
Like what I promised yesterday on the Abel Jets VA topic about giving you guys a present after your nice re-welcoming posts, I'd like to give you guys an ATC Session event! So, on May 27th, 2017, which is the start of the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim people throughout the world is going to do fasting like what have been told by God and Prophet Muhammad and show sympathy to the peasant people ( lol, I'm starting to become a religion teacher ). So let's get back to the point, in order to celebrate Ramadan ( and my return as the CEO of Abel Jets VA, lol ), I'd like to invite you guys to the annual Ramadan Flights Event. But there are some things different in this occasion, first the place where it 'll be hold won't be on the Canary Islands like last year, but it'll be on the Central Mediterranean Islands. Second, there will be a special aerobatic demo by the Orange Skies Aerobatic Team flying its flagships, which are the F-35C Lightning II and Kawasaki C-2 during the opening stage of the event, so don't miss it. Re: [MAY 27] Ramadan Flights Over the Mediterranean ATC Session
In the past, the most number of pilots we've had for any multi-airport ATC event is 8 or so. It happened once during an ATC event in Hawaii where I had four ATC's going at once, and we had just a handful of pilots flying. Most of the controllers outside of Welshy, who was controlling HNL, were just sitting idle twiddling their thumbs (literally speaking), and had very little to do for most of the ATC session. Since then, I've been prudent about assigning too many controllers or we'll end up with that situation again.
So here's my simple proposal: have two frequencies, Mandiola Center and Malta Center. Mandiola Center will handle everything at MXA, OCA and LNB; Malta Center will handle everything at MLA and PNL. This worked out good last time, so it should be good this time also.
We're really not a VATSIM type of community where there are dozens of pilots flying online on "quieter" days, so we can keep the controllers for these events in proportion.
Just my two cents' worth .

That sounds great, TFan.Turbofan wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2017 4:56 am Just some thing else I'd like to throw out there (I've conctacted Abel about this also):

So due that we're going to reduce the amount of the controllers, would you mind if I change your station to Malta Center?

I don't follow the religion, but I do enjoy that the event brings us all a little closer together.
For those observing, may peace and your gods blessings be with you.
Think thanks-giving, but it's an entire month long. I wish western culture (esp. Australian culture) had something like that...

What is the reason for this Pat?Patrick31337 wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2017 4:51 am Somewhat important announcement: We will be using the 2015 server instead of OYS, so you will need the 2015 version of YSF to join this event.
Quite a downer for those who cannot use the 2015 version... I can't make it due to Time Zones but now with the version requirements I wouldn't be able to make it anyway.
Hopefully this is only temporary.
Have a good session those who will be in attendance.
