Opening problems

I have hit a problem running YS Flight. My usual version is 20141222. I got the most recent stable release, just for trying, and after, I can not open my 20141222 version. How can I fix this?

try deleting the YSFLIGHT.COM folder (back it up first)

tried that, it came with this error message in the new YSFLIGHT.COM folder:
"Unrecognizable Line : RLDAYVISI 4667.097600m"

Go to My Document > YSFLIGHT.COM > YSFLIGHT > config > open flight.cfg with Notepad/Notepad ++, Then Delete Line "Unrecognizable Line : RLDAYVISI 4667.097600m" , then save it, you're problem will be fixed

You'll get other errors like trouble frequency and specular when you go to fly. To fix all of them, open the configs in 2014 and hit OK. This overwrites the config file entirely, so you don't need to manually edit.

Hmmm, the issue is that when I run ys iny Mac, it bounces twice and closes. If I do it again it will not show a dot under to show it is open like it should. In short, it quits immediately when launching

what operating system do you have and what version of ysflight are you trying to use? Ive encountered this before.

I use macos 10.14.2 and ys flight version 20150425. The app was working after I updated my os, it only stopped working recently when I installed the 2018 version of ys. after I uninstalled that, my 2015 version would not open at all, and would show that is has quit unexpectedly.

Then reinstall 2015, it isn't advisable to regularly run different versions for that very reason, the configs get confused

I never had success uninstalling an older one and then re installing an older one. Be sure you've got the OS10.11 update to the 2015 version of YSFlight.

Then delete everything YSflight related besides the install .zip file. Scour the libraries and documents folders and the like.

Will I be able to keep my add-ons? (sorry for the late reply) many of these are not available anymore since the closure of ys finder.

If you zip all the addons into a single file and then delete the non-zipped files, that should prevent them from getting in the way. Just make sure to put them somewhere safe like your downloads folder.

Copy the whole YS install to a new folder on your desktop or something, delete the .exes, and then delete everything in the original location and wherever the Mac equivalent of User>YSFLIGHT.COM is. Then redownload and reinstall, and copy all the addon files back into the new YS version without overwriting. This way you don't miss files that are installed in Aircraft rather than in User, and all the .lst's are preserved, as well as any control .cfg's or .yfs's you might have saved.

Mac has local and global places for addons to go. The local is inside the YSFLIGHT.app file. The Global is in Documents -> YSFLIGHT.COM folder
