YS on Chromebook - is it possible?

Post by HawkbitAlpha »

Simple question. I have a technologically-illiterate friend with a Chromebook who wants to play YS, but we're not sure if it's possible for YS to be run on Chrome OS. Can it be done, or will he have to go all the way and replace Chrome OS with Linux to be able to play?

Hello!

Well, give it a try! if it wouldn't work then i think replacing the Chrome OS with Linux would work.
(or using Emulator if there's one :?: )
the thing is, editing or hacking the YSFlight.exe is forbidden. :)

1. ChromeOS is Linux.
2. There are no Linux exes XD

In answer to the original question not without removing ChromeOS or getting it to run as an Android app

If you use a cloud computer service, such as Shadow, you can access YS because most services (including Shadow) are Windows-based. I know for a fact that Shadow has a Chromebook app, as well.

But then again, this doesn't exactly answer your question. It really ends up being how much $ you're willing to spend on a high-powered Windows system to get out of the gross ChromeOS. I personally own a Shadow that I use when I'm traveling and even used it as my main 'desktop' for quite some time.
