Back online after one of the worst ice storms to hit OK. More than 250,000 customers without power at one point, still 200,000+. Lots of trees damaged, limbs down everywhere etc. Any ice storm is bad enough, but you throw an ice storm in October, when all the trees still have leaves on them and now you're talking major problems.

We lost power but for less than 24 hours, can't complain too much as plenty of others are still without electricity and heat. Luckily, the highs are to be in the 60s this weekend, little consolation I'm sure to those waiting to get power back on. Back in the 2007 ice storm we had no heat/electricity for three days, that was something else.

Did I mention our part of the world seems to get more ice storms?

I was afraid you might have lost power. I'm glad to hear you got it back on already. With that much damage, it will take a while to get the wires put back together.

Yep, much of the damage this time was due to branches falling on power lines. Our power crews do a fine job and many crews from other states have come to help out as well but yeah, the amount of damage is quite large so it will be a while before everyone gets power again.

High temp today: 60F, tomorrow: 65F. At least all of the ice should be long gone by Saturday afternoon!
