The iconic McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle has been a common sight in the skies of Wayne County since the 1990s. It's the current symbol for Seymour Johnson AFB, and from 2006 to 2011, one of several birds which got to strut her stuff in airshows across the nation and abroad as a representative of the USAF's 4th Fighter Wing.
This past summer, the team was pulled from a ten-year mothball for what was expected to be a one-off comeback to action at the 2021 Indy Air Fest in Indianapolis. Today, we're excited to announce that the Strike Eagle Demonstration Team is not only set to continue performing for the remainder of 2021 and into the 2022 airshow season, but is now also joining the F-35A and F-16C demo teams as an official part of the YS Air Combat Command (YSACC)!
The "Bayou Barnstormers" Little Wingman and HawkbitAlpha, two YS pilots with ten years of experience between them, specialize in showing the airshow-going public just what pilots of the F-15E Strike Eagle are trained to do, with their own personal touches included. Currently, the team is in search of a permanent narrator and ground cameraman.
