YSG2000 aircraft creation website

Post by YSG2000 »

Hi

Back to YSFlight after many years - I use it to keep my mind active and explore the concepts of 1970s air combat, and aircraft design. It helps develop problem solving.

I want to share the knowledge I have gained over the years so to that end I have created a website which describes how to create an aircraft model in Wings 3D, export it to YSFlight through Blender 2.49 and how to re-paint aircraft using a text editor.

I am also trying to improve the realism of the aircraft model: the Mirage 2000 for example, was configured with half the thrust of the actual specification: 3000 kg and 7000 kg thrust with afterburner, as opposed to the real thing.

Is YSFlight not being used very much anymore? I don't see a lot of recent postings.

Most of the day to day discussion is happening on the Discord, but yeah, people don't fly much anymore

So what have they migrated to? DCS? I use YSFlight to keep my mind occupied and as a creative hobby and to learn about fighter aircraft design.

I know some made aerobatic teams or squadrons in other games but most are probably preoccupied with more important things. Also, I think I wanna try wings 3D, is it more convenient than blender?

Please try Wings 3D. It is the easiest to use, and much easier than Blender.

Please see my tutorial here

I will be willing to help you get your model published in YS. Hope to do a demo model soon.
