Bank Angle

Post by koshyajit »

Hello fellow aviators!
When we are flying "HEADING BUG" (Auto-Pilot Mode), and we change direction, the airplane tends to bank at 30-degrees or thereabouts. Any setting to make this a more gentle bank of 10-degrees or 15-degrees while the plane in Auto-Pilot mode??
Thank you as usual to all those more knowledgeable than me in so many areas.
Sincerely,
John Yohannan :)

Autopilot bank angle is defined by aircraft category. Things like fighters bank to 45deg and heavies like 737s bank to 30deg. Aside from changing category there is no way to set the maximum autopilot bank. The bank angle flown is defined by how far the heading bug is from the current heading, so you can keep a fairly stable bank by tapping the heading bug rotation keys to keep a constant gap between the bug and the aircraft
