2. Know how to use/make/edit DAT files.
I am in EST time and am most often on YSFlight on weekends, excluding holidays.

To make aircraft and ground objects: If you already know how to Blender, you're probably most of the way there. If not, you will have to learn to either use Blender or the 3D editors made just for YSF. I hope you studied Geometry and Trig. For those who wonder "When will we use this math in real life?", 3d modeling is among those times!
There are tutorials for both making maps and objects/aircraft. The way I learned was by taking them apart and seeing how they were made. I have done entire paint jobs on aircraft using Notepad. I never learned how to Blender, so I use gepoly and gepolyx from the YS toolkit.
