Hello All,

actually my name is János, 34 from Pécs, Hungary. But just call me Greyer.
More than a decade ago as an aviation enthusiast poor kid I was searching for free flight simulator, and I found YS Flight. I had great memories with it! First I played with keyboard then I got a joystick - whole new level. I mostly played offline, flying in formation with my past-self. Also, I remember a more vivid online community flying around, that was fun too. Then life happened.
Time to time I got back to YS but high-school, engineering uni, work and marriage put YS in the background.

Anyway, as I have a basic laptop and I don't really want to invest in a gaming PC or console, I downloaded YS again.

I have an idea to combine a simple flight simulator with an escape room puzzle, or team-building fun game for non-aviation friends. I think YS is great because the details will not confuse the players.

Has anyone of you done anything similar?
I'll may have questions regarding custom map creation, setting weather for online sessions, and ATC.

IF you are looking for weather, you should check out Skipper's YSFlight Role Playing Server. has live Wind and visibility from hawaii and has a 30 minute day/night cycle wight changing sky colors.

Welcome! The community has definitely slowed down from our early 2010s peak. Hopefully things will pick up again in the future

I've had a few thoughts about interactive maze-type maps, using ground object turrets as a selector of sorts to choose a path to open, but I've not actually turned it into a prototype. Online weather is a bit of a let-down unless you use a 3rd-party program like YSRP server. Toss questions my way and I can probably answer most of them. Weird projects are kind of my specialty
