Join us on Friday, August 5th for the annual Independence Day Air Expo. This event has a history of being ran year after year as a one day, themed show, and we are excited to announce that this year's theme is to celebrate the centennial of naval aviation. Any and all naval aspect aircraft are welcomed to this show. While the air show may be a large part of this event, it will also include the YSAS Air Race as well as a stunning fireworks display to end the air expo.

Due to the extra features, performers are limited to one (1) single-ship performance and unlimited dual/two+ aircraft displays. YSAS Air Race competitors are allowed to take part in both air show and race venues (edited). Racers must sign up on the air race thread in this forum.

We hope to make this a solid, exciting, dynamic, and entertaining show as we always do. We look forward to hosting you.

This show is featured at MCAS MCAS Kaneohe Bay. Need some help thinking of aircraft you can bring to the show? Here's a couple that may get your brain going - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fz_FXE5cPY

Crow what are the chances of adding an F2a Buffalo to the heritage flight segment.A Marine VMF-211 Midway from Oranleeds pack or a single ship fly by. No real performance as such.I would have done the Gunny Mobile but its an T-6 not an SNj :(

Will do.

Gunny - I would be happy with the T-6. I'm not to worried about the paint on the planes. I'm considering Viper's F-16 demo due that the Navy used it as an aggressor platform. So, whatever you wanna do, let me know.

Airbourne, considering that you painted up and had the intentions of flying the Hornet at YSIA, and as I assumed this show as well, I went ahead and put you down. We're not taking any replays for this show though. Plus it's a naval aviation themed show. No vipers...unless they're NSWAC.

YSAS Air Race competitors will not be able to take part in the air show flying activities, only the air race.
SC, is this set in concrete? As a few of our newer display pilots and regular display pilots are taking part in the YSAS Air Race. Infact I think all 6 pilots in YSAS Air Race did display at YSIA.

I will display a 171st aircraft not sure which though. Maybe the Buccaneer or SU-25. I'll decide soon enough.

Since it's naval themed, cut the Sky Surfer and put in for a VFA-49 Tomcat display. I'll have to use a different visual model on my computer, but the pack is linked to here on HQ.

Vandal:

This was chosen for various reasons.

-switching aircraft / flying them before your show can cause muscle memory to not exsist, thus less feel of the aircraft
-since we have the air races, we have more "stuff" we have to do. We are keeping it to a 1 performance limit because with the air race, that will take some time. I don't want to be there for hours
-Everyone else will only be able to fly once. I don't see how it would be equal if we let the air race people (whom would be in the spotlight during thier flight) to be flown twice.

We'll see how it pans out first....right now it seems to not be that much of an issue, so we'll let them unless we find something negative otherwise.

----

Ace, if you want to bring the Sky Surfer, I would allow that. Just say it's an SU-33. Whatever ya wanna do.

Phoenix, sure.

accually im not going. my dad says its either battle creek (this weekend) or gary. i chose battle creek because the blue angels are there and the next time i will see them is next year at chicago. plus i didnt see them this year, they canceled rockford because of what happened at lynchburg. if i was going to gary it would be the 15th because i leave for vacation the 18th, so 16th & 17th are cutting it close.

edit:

scarecrow, add the F/A-18C legacy hornet then. how about a blue angel flyby?
