[Recurring] Sun/Tues/Thurs Night Flights (Civilian)

Post by wingzfan99 »

TUES NIGHT FLIGHTS ARE LIVE
Effective Monday, February 21, ALL SESSIONS will be held using YSFLIGHT Version 20110207. Please be prepared.

In an effort to have more regular ATC sessions, TB1 and I are going to be hosting semi-regular events called "Tuesday Night Flights" and "Thursday Night Flights".

Every Thursday night that I can, from approximately 8:30PM - 11:00PM (US Central Time)

Day of Week -- Time(s) -- Host -- Server Addresses
Sunday (All Regions) -- 8:00PM - 10:00PM GMT -- Fariiniq -- YS: fariiniq.dyndns.org/TS: fariiniq.dyndns.org
Tuesday (Europe) -- 7:00-9:00PM GMT -- TB1 -- YS: wngz.dyndns.org/TS: wngz.dyndns.org
Thursday (North America) -- 8:30PM - 11:00PM US CST -- Wingzfan99 -- YS: wngz.dyndns.org/TS: fariiniq.dyndns.org

In the event that ATC service cannot be provided on a given night, every attempt will be made to make sure the servers are still up and running.

To provide the ultimate level of compatibility, we'll use only default maps and aircraft to start, and I'll install more civilian planes as we go along.

We'll start this upcoming Thursday (February 17, 2011) for the North American night, and on Tuesday (February 22, 2011) for the European night, 8:30PM! Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

Currently, we are using the old YSATC Online Operations Guide as the basis of the rules for each event.

Some additional rules will be in place:

If TeamSpeak is not functioning, everyone MUST use F12 chat for their ATC Service. If it is clear that a conversation between ATC and a specific pilot is taking place, please do not interrupt it... if too many people do, the messages begin to disappear, and this may cause confusion.

While on the TeamSpeak server, please do not talk over other pilots or interrupt a conversation with ATC.

Military aircraft are more than welcome to participate -- but the usual rules regarding the engagement of civilian aircraft will be in effect. Military aircraft are expected to comply with ATC in the same way that civilians are. Additionally, military aircraft may be asked to stay in a particular area of the map in order to avoid conflict with civilians.

The use of any plane with an autogunner is strictly forbidden.

For a first offense of any of these rules, a warning will be given. For a second offense, you will be ejected and banned from the server for 24 hours.

Cool, I should give this a shot.

I'm don't usually fly civvies, so you may have to deal with some noobishness

I think this is a pretty great idea. :)

wingz do you think we could have a combat area on the map you pick so that us military flyers can join in with some ATC to control us?

I love this idea. We'll try to get the Blue Dolphins there so you can handle a formation flight of aircraft! :)

This is an awesome idea. I love using ATC sometimes but there's usually noone who wants to do it but me.

Military flyers are more than welcome to join in, as long as they play nice with the Civvies :D

It is catchier, but far less convenient for the person hosting the server lol.

Yay!

Tho there's the time issue,
08:30:00 p.m. Thursday February 17, 2011 in US/Central converts to
04:30:00 a.m. Friday February 18, 2011 in Europe/Helsinki
but this is great :D

If you need a second controller, just give me a shout :)

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my signature, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular lack of skills, skills I have imagined having over a very long career. Skills that make me are completely useless in any situation. If you stop reading now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't stop reading, I will look for you, I will probably not find you, and I will kill your refrigerator.

If God meant man to fly, He'd have given us bigger wallets.
If God had meant for men to fly he would have made their bones hollow and not their heads.

Yeah, for right now it will have to stay at Thursday 8:30PM US CST... Occasionally I might be able to throw in a Friday or Saturday at an earlier time, like 6 or 7... just depends on what my work schedule looks like.

It's awesome to see so much interest in this, though... Never got this kind of reception when I ran things like this through YSP.
