The radar shows a map of the ground and airports and stuff on the ground so we know EXACTLYwhat is in our radar.

There's an addon for that which shows you the name of the player and airports, it's called ysradar

Aero wrote:Besides additional auto-pilot features, and seaplane support mentioned back on Page 1, I would like to see an improvement in the player name circles and the information they display. Instead of displaying just the difference in speed between your aircraft and the aircraft around you, maybe it could display the actual velocity (in Knots) and the altitude or flight level.

For example, instead of "+ or -13kt", it could display "350 412"; 350 being the flight level and 412 the speed, similar to what air traffic controllers see on their screens.

I would also like to reiterate Gunny's idea of displaying airport ID's on the radar screen, with the addition of VOR stations and other navaids being displayed as well.

Dude, relative speed is extremely important for formations and for combat. Changing it to this would be a step back.

Sound options for start ups and shut downs for jets and props.
So you could actually start up and shut down an engine in Ysflight w/o having to mute the sound.

I want to be able to independently control the cyclic and the collective when flying helicopters and for the cyclic to control the rotor blades more than just tilting the helicopter

Yes, but once one gets the hang of using a cyclic and a collective, the flight controls are much more versatile and I find it easier to control when using a cyclic

Addition: (since I didn't want to double post)
I would like jamming technology for missiles

I've had an idea...

Jamming hides you, s reduce radar cross section.
then when you are close radar "BURNS" through to lock on

The ability to load other players into cargo aircraft. (e.g. loading a player controlled tank into a C-5) and the ability to airlift players with choppers. The same goes for aircraft carriers and commercial airliners. The airliners would require detailed cockpits which would create lag. Take Gre's Citation X and modify it to allow other people to board. I know this possible. Look at Flightgear and the star trek ship addons for it. You can walk around the cabin, open a door to access other areas, or open a door and parachute out, land then control the aircraft back to you and re-board. Someone may want to check it out.

True. I was wondering if this was a modding question or a question for Mr. Soji. Either way, it would be cool, but take alot of time no matter who took it on.

I wish for more transparent and natural looking clouds (over a larger area), targeting for high drag bombs, and multi-lock missiles and for a weapon I plan to make one day.

Maybe Radar ID's are a bit over the top of simplicity; how about changing the symbolic X's with a little more symbolism to indicate what kind of radar return is being fed to the screen, or better-yet, designate a new hot-key, [R] or [V], for looking down onto a radar screen (painting in sweeps if you want), that would allow for a coarse image to be rendered as if produced by a radar system; that would allow for an entire screenfull of information instead of the dinky one in-use right now.
