The A.R.A. - The Airbourne Reconnaissance Agency.

Post by LuckyGlues » Mon Aug 01, 2011 8:19 pm

The A.R.A. - The Airbourne Reconnaissance Agency.

Composed of two Fleets: DF-156 (Drone Fleet) and JF-256 (Jet Fleet).
Used Planes:
DRONES: RQ-1L Predator; FlyBoy.
JETS : SR-71 BlackBird, F-104 (and deratives), Ralale (M).

The A.R.A. is the new Squadron created to replace the now defunct I.I.I., past members of the I.I.I. do not need to re-apply if they wish to join.
Unlike the I.I.I., the A.R.A. is a fully flying (mainly) unarmed Airbourne version of a Field Reconnaissance Regiment mainly using high speed jets (F-104, etc...) and Drones (RQ-1L Predator, FlyBoy Drone, etc...).
Radar counter-measures have been made to the planes of the A.R.A., reducing the radar signature to 0.6.
The aims of the A.R.A. are to initiate pilots properly into Reconnaissance Missions, and aid fellow Squadrons. in their training and operations, but not those against other Squadrons (apart from competitive "challenges"). The Reconnaissance of the A.R.A. shall never be used in an offensive way.

The A.R.A. holds a basic Ranking system, which is used by both Fleets of the Squadron (Here shown from the lowest to highest rank):

_Trainee.
_Flight Officer.
_Fleet Officer (in charge of one Section each).
_Commanding Officer.

The following rules apply to all members at all times, when a member puts on the tag of the A.R.A., he is an Ambassador of our Squadron to the Public of YS and should act at his best, failure to comply to these rules shall result in suitable disciplinary action:

_Respect all ranks, lower or high (calling higher ranks Sir/Ma'am is not required, but decency and at least listening to each other is enforced).
_Respect the Server Rules at all times.
_Deliberate Trolling/Harrassment/Racism shall not be permitted.
_When on the YSFHQ/YSPilot forums, please respect the rules at all times.
_YSFlight is a game, have fun.

The CO may add new rules at any times and on the spot, when he believes that the current ones are insufficient.

For more information or if you wish to join, please contact LuckyGlues on the YSFHQ Forums or send an e-mail to [email protected].

I agree With Dave J seems like a good idea. But a good idea for what?
Do you have a mission statment yet.Like what is the job of the A.R.A. what will it do?That should be basic for an introduction to Ys.
I know I kind of sound harsh and I do not mean to just want to know. :)

I fully understand your question, the aims of the A.R.A. were not yet added, due to the "young age" of the Squadron.
The aims would be to initiate pilots properly into Reconnaissance Missions, and aid fellow Squadrons. in their training and operations, but not those against other Squadrons (apart from competitive "challenges"). The Reconnaissance of the A.R.A. shall never be used in an offensive way.

So really your like the ATC that controls the battle right telling fighter pilots where the enemy is you should train your squad on ww3.

Kind of, except in an Operation we don't have the power to tell the pilot whom to attack. The only problem is that, on the ww3 server, we would have to relay the information to our team via the chat, a job which the AWAC jets can do with their own radar in that area. But that is a good idea, I'll remember it.

And also, thank-you to the people whom have shown support on this thread.

Is it possible to disable radar on a server because if it is I might make a stealth server where your all alone in the fog and the only people on your iff can talk to you and that there was a battle there.
Sadly I'm sure this is not possible or the A.R.A would deffinitely play their part here.

Or how about stealth that recharges like nitro in the NFS series.

Doesn't work that way. It's a fixed number, and the only thing so far that changes it is whether or not the bomb bay is open.

Oddly, gears don't affect stealth.
