Virgin Atlantic's new "warnings" for some in-flight movies

Post by Turbofan » Sun Aug 28, 2011 3:11 pm

Once every now and then, you stumble on an amazingly hilarious piece of news. This is one of them.

Virgin Atlantic adding "emotionally distressing" warnings to some in-flight movies.

I don't know about you, but I found this just too funny. Seriously? Toy Story 3 would warrant a warning?!! I guess it's another one of those prevent-a-stupid-lawsuit actions, but then again, just goes to show that in today's world, anything's possible.

My general rant: I will call them blended winglets, not Sharklets; There is no CEO, it's just simply put, an Airbus 319/320/321, or the 320NEO, 321NEO etc. I didn't land IN DAL, I landed AT DAL. On the other hand, I did land in Dallas.

Have you SEEN Toy Story 3?

I'll admit it, I may have dropped a tear or two.

This is why you watch Discovery. (Or Air Crash Investigations... that's always amusing on a plane.)

I can see why they'd do it, but if people watching need to hide under a blanket, why not just watch something else?

@Zeus: While I haven't seen the entire movie, I have seen the parts where the toys get dumped and all, and I figure yeah, sometimes one might get caught up in the moment and everything, which happens and I fully understand that. I've seen some movies like that myself, but it's the warnings-I don't think they're necessary. Many movies have been produced in the past where no such warnings were given and everything was fine. It's just the fear of a lawsuit that's driving these, is all my point was. Guess I should have worded my post a bit differently, just my $0.02 worth though. :)

Or do as waspe said. Just switch channels.

What I find amusing is that men were watching Water for Elephants or Eat, Pray, Love and feel they need to be warned that chick flicks are usually sappy and overly sentimental. Who are these men? I haven't watched either one-because I already know I'd find them stupid and depressing. As for Toy Story 3-its a fantastic movie-no shame bro just let those tears flow.

There is no shame crying during either Toy Story 3 (especially if you're just going to move to college) or Where the Wild Things Are. All else is unacceptable.

All I have to say is...

"May contain scenes of mild peril"
"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. "

Sorry. I couldn't zoom out very far and keep everything in view, and I'm too lazy to splice.
