Flight with friends

Post by gundamfan117 » Tue Sep 06, 2011 7:32 pm

When you start a server, is it mandatory that you must fly an endurance or interception mission? Can you just fly freely? In other words, I'm asking, if my friends joins my server, are we forced to fly a mission, or can we just fly around for fun.

Sorry in advance if this has been asked already. I couldn't find anything when I searched.

You can just fly around for fun.

There are times when I'm with like half the CVW-171 (that's like 10 members) and we're all driving cars around.

That's the beauty of YS. If you want to fly a mission, you can grab some friends and go kill stuff. And if you want to fly a pirate ship and steal booty, you're welcome to do that as well.

(there's even a few gundams available for download off WFTC.)

And some people in the FlightGear forums say this is a game, not a sim. Some just haven't seen YS's real potential.

I think its a world rather than a flight sim.

But its a sim nevertheless.

Search in the FlightGear forums and find the topic. I couldn't believe what I was reading.

It isn't a sim. It is a game. I'm pretty sure even Soji said that.

Let's put it this way: YSflight is to realistic flightsims what tf2 is to realistic shooters.

Our missiles do aerobatics, man.

That said, it's still plenty fun.

I defended YS (I think), or at least tried. http://www.flightgear.org/forums/viewto ... t=ysflight

I disagree with us having texture -- we have ground texture, not airplane textures.

That said, good stuff. :)

Well, texture is labeled "Ground Texture". I was targeting those who had YS already and where complaining about the ground.

I think there is enough texture on the ground; it's just...
if you are close enough to the ground to see the texture,
you'd better be paying attention to a few other details as well.

Aragorn, I saw your defenses and they were well based.

Keep spreading the good word, brother! Thank you for your efforts! In fact - the more people you can recruit to HQ, the better. I really appreciate what you did here.

It appears a lot of flight gear members think there are no mods for ysflight or they have the same quality as stock ones.
