Re: Flash's Workshop

Post by Lord Flasheart »

Havent got any on my to-do list as of yet. Sticking to the jets for the time being.
On a different note, have cut the panel lines for the underside. Now need to go about the long and boring process of joining the vertices to make the polygons.

LFlash, how thick are those panel lines? Thinner is better.

In scale I think they come out to be about 15mm thick. Originally i was going to have them as 30 but it looked far too heavy. I'll have a play around with them. to be honest i think they are a bit too dark in colour, so i'll experiment with lightening them so they have less impact as it were.

Great job here, amazing. A little hint on the panel colors: instead of giving all of them the same color, mix the base color with some dark grey, this is actually the technique used by scale modelers, they color the whole model and then brush some grey in the panel lines. Doing this, the color between panels darken to give a better illusion.

I don't have a great affinity for the Vulcan, but the work is gorgeous!
I'd be happy to own one.

Just shy of 3.65MB at the moment. The exterior is about finished now, anything else will only add another 100KB tops. The cockpit shouldn't take long to be honest. I intend to use my old vulcan cockpit as a base with only a few minor alterations. If I were to estimate the filesize of the finished aircraft i'd put it somewhere in the region of 5.5-6.5MB

Update:
The exterior model is finished at a rather hefty 3.78MB
