[SCENERY] Megadodo 2.0

Post by Midnight Rambler »

Image
The famous Megadodo map is back!

Essentially the megadodo scenery is a map, containing maps. The .fld points YS towards the maps of choice (stated in the.fld) where they are placed together in the one scenery. Maps bundled in this release include Hawaii, Tohoku, Aomori, Crescent Island, Newta, Naha, Atsugi AFB. All maps are 100% stock size meaning that the overall size of this map is massive. (It took me a good 10-15 minutes flying at mach 6.5 to reach Matsushima...

Megadodo 2.0 is similar to the original 3 except is contains most start points from the maps, listed with either:
[ATS]
[HAW]
[AOM]
[NAHA]
[CRES]
[NEWTA]

Included in the download is a flight chart that I've made to fly on the map, basically angles from major airports on a map. It is quite accurate but may be out by a degree or two. Check the document folder in the YSF root folder for the chart, a PDF reader will be required.

WARNING: FOR THIS MAP TO WORK CORRECTLY, THE STOCK HAWAII OR A MODIFIED VERSION OF THE STOCK HAWAII HAS TO BE INSTALLED. PMNV HAWAII, USED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE STOCK HAWAII, WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY.

Credits: UNKNOWN (I know Starkey and Erict-15 made a version but I have no idea who made the original).

Download: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AoGYwHQkk_NugRPv5Fv3u6tZQr4f

Installation:
Drag and drop the scenery and document folders into the main YSF folder, as per usual.

Is it just me, or are Tohoku and Aomori technically the same maps?

If you have it on a case-sensitive filesystem, open the fld file, and find the paths to the scenery's, since this map just loads some stock maps into YSFlight, and puts them at several coordinates. Check those pathways, and you should be fine.

Okay Rambler, —(Ooh, speaking of decent older cars),… you wanted to be told so I'm telling you…
I found a minor glitch in the STP file. Starting Position identified as '[CRES]RW28_2' shows up
several miles South of the identified location in the middle of the ocean, and throws up an error
dialog-box.

You are correct, nice find. I had a , instead of a . making the number become very big. The error would have been the plane starting on the water, which can't be done.

Cheers Navy

Re-upped.

As for the Linux problems, I'm not sure where it could have gone bad. If you find the problem could you tell me so that I can fix it?

Cheers
