QANTAS grounded

Post by Midnight Rambler » Sat Oct 29, 2011 12:08 pm

Funny tactics going on here.

Plenty of political pressure but it certainly seems that QANTAS is sticking it to the worker Unions.

I really don't know what to think about Alan Joyce - on one hand, at least he's raised Qantas' profits by a couple hundred million $, but on the other hand, he's refusing to give out pay rises to anyone but himself.

I think he's using it as a stance against the Unions. In this economical climate, they're asking too much.
It's funny really, grounding QANTAS will undoubtedly create a reaction and will force the Government to do something... Just depends whether they bleed the airline dry and force them into bankruptcy or help them out.

In related news, British Prime Minister David Cameron was due to fly out of Australia in a QANTAS plane .

I'm going to come out of nowhere and say that I think the unions are giving ridiculous demands that would cripple the airline far more so than the grounding...

Why yes I do still exist.
