Too arcade, but it has stunning graphics I must say. Should be fun to play. You wanna ''fly' for real''? buy IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 or Lock On Flamming Cliffs 2 or just download Free Falcon 5, I bet my as$ you will enjoy it a hundred times more than that.

Im not really a big fan of Ace Combat but i suggest HAWX. I dont recommend it cause it has some of my name but the style on how to play it and also the feeling of using old planes it futuristic eras.

I hated the HAWX games, and that is not an exaggeration.

The newest Ace Combat is only similar to the predecessors in certain areas.

I played HAWX only because my Ace Combat broke and I had nothing else to play. Hated every minute of the game play so I beat it just to play free flight where it's quiet and no one bothers you. Even that sucked. Thanks YS for saving my life. Anyways I tried the demo for AC:AH and it didn't really entertain me. I guess I'll see what it's like when I get the real game. Their stories have never disappointed me though.

Both Hawx and the AC series are too arcade-like to me. I guess I'm one of the more hardcore flight simmers out there. But I seriously do admire the graphics though. :) :)

AC:AH is a pretty decent game with airplanes in it. It's not a flight simulator, I don't think anyone really considers it to be one, and judging it on those grounds is misguided. The helo fighting system is interesting, the lack of mega air fortresses is kind of a relief, and the boss battles seem pretty decent. While a lot of folks aren't gonna like the DFM mode, I find it kinda reminiscent of the system from Sky Crawlers, a game I enjoyed quite a bit, and it certainly places an emphasis on gun combat and getting on the enemy's 6 that the other AC games often lacked. Could take or leave the plot, and in the end, I think it gets kinda stupid, but hey, airplanes and explosions! At the very least, AC:AH uses everything novel in HAWX and most of the Ace Combat games, tosses in some helos and bomber missions, and doesn't suck.

I love a good, serious flight sim, but I'll also play a side scrolling flash game if there are airplanes in it. If there is a rule that says you can't love hard core flights sims and arcade fluff at the same time, I've never seen it.

*I've played through the full campaign once, and I've spent a little time in online multiplayer. The main game is interesting enough, but I think it would be a blast to try it in coop with a friend sometime.

Agreed. Though I miss some of the older Ace Combat plots such as in The Unsung War, I find the new real world experience a bit interesting. I love scenery a lot so I'll be doing a lot of flying around many of Ace Combat's new maps and scenery. The Dogfighting mode is actually really cool once you get the grip of it and actually begin to figure the tricks out. All in all it's a good game and possibly a good step away from what was soon to become an old tradition.
