They are all different forms of radio navigation for aviation.

ILS:

(Ignore the part about Outer/Middle/Inner markers as they are not used in Ysflight)

VOR:

NDB:
(note: ADF vs. NDB - NDB is the ground station sending out the radio signal. ADF is the equipment on the aircraft picking up the signal)
Set your ADF to a particular station. Turn your plane until the needle on the ADF is pointing up. Your aircraft is now pointed directly at the NDB station.
