Video Tips and Tricks Help
I would like to hide or disable is the HUD when in all of the view options (F1 thru F9).
I've seen some videos where the camera in the F1 view moves around like the pilot was looking around. There is no HUD and the camera moves smoothly from side to side and they can zoom in.
Some relevant info:
I'm on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6
2.4 GHz Intel i5 core
4GB RAM
I don't use a joystick, only keyboard and mouse
I'd appreciate any and all help with this problem.

Option (O) >>> Config (C) >>> Game Rule
Unmark the check box that says "Always show HUD"
Pretty sure you would need a joystick to do this. Set your flying controls to your joystick and set your X and Y Axis Point of View to your mouse in the Key Assignment Menu.decaff_42 wrote: I've seen some videos where the camera in the F1 view moves around like the pilot was looking around. This seems to work for everything but the F1 view, but it will get me by until i get myself a joystick.
Any ideas why this doesn't work in the F1 view?

Re: Video Tips and Tricks Help
Regarding looking around, if you record a flight, then change your control settings and watch the replay, it is perfectly possible to get the "looking around while flying" feel. The relevant controls are the View X-Axis and Y-Axis, under the joystick setting box.

It's here. Part of the tutorial I posted by kuro.Gunny wrote:As regard the looking around aspect of replays Kuro had a mouse utility that was called mouseheadlook.I couldn't find a link to it though but I know it exists cause I have it.You install it when you are doing replays for the eyeballing effect. It will not work in active play because it de-activates the joystick associations.

Re: Video Tips and Tricks Help
He also mentioned the Contrailer aircraft, which I have gotten, but he said you can edit it .dat file to make the contrails from sharp turns appear far enough away that they are off-screen.
"These can defiantly get in the way of filming and look very odd as they appear or come off of an invisible plane. Try accessing the .DAT file of the contrailer and position them very far away and you probably wont see them in the film if the contrailer happens to make a sharp turn."
I've looked around and couldn't find anything about the contrails in the tutorials here. Can someone show me the line in the .dat file that controls this feature so I can play around with it?
Thanks for all your help so far.

Re: Video Tips and Tricks Help
If you change the position to a few thousand meters, it will be out of view of the aircraft.VAPORPO0 0.0m 0.0m 0.0m - The position (X, Y, Z) of the vapor trail.
VAPORPO1 0.0m 0.0m 0.0m - The position (X, Y, Z) of the vapor trail - movable (VGW) wings (f-14 etc..) When folded, the vapor trail comes from this position.
