A tentative greeting

Post by Yellowknife » Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:39 am

Long time watcher, first time pilot. I'm Yellowknife. I used to muck around with YS as a kid, but I'm making a serious attempt to explore the possibilities of the game and participate in its community; playing Ace Combat: Assault Horizon recently gave me a shedload of nostalgia, so here I am. How's tricks?

Squadrons, huh? I always wanted to see what combat was like here. On the other hand, I probably won't be challenging the guys on that blacklist for a while yet. :P

Thanks to you as well, NavyGator! I'll try to be a worthwhile addition to the community.

WE HAVE ANOTHER AUSSIE. YAY!

Ok, quick rules:

Don't hand feed any of the black list, your hand may become a golden stream of pixels.
If you be nice, Shutter may let you play with his dinosaurs.
If not, he'll steal your batmans.

In all, welcome to the HQ!

Correct. But since my hand is already a golden stream of pixels and I'm suffering a severe shortage of batmans, I should be fine nonetheless.

Drama would demand that this is the point at which I disappear in an ironic fashion. Happily, I plan to remain around a while, if YSFHQ will have me.

Thank you! And yes, it's a bit sad. I'll try not to be one of those people.

Cool, welcome to HQ. And you should ALWAYS fear for your batmans. I will find some you forgot you had until it was too late.

Thank you, TheJuli and Raven! Shutter, I live in fear of you seeking out my batmans. Can anyone suggest some measures I might be able to take in the interests of protecting my precious batmans from such ravaging?

EDIT: And how do I get one of those lovely flight-time counters?

Welcome yellow knife! you have much to learn and I for one would be glad to take you down the yellow brick road that is YSFlight. Meet me online sometime... like... now.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Layer you house with booby traps sprung by PAI.

You can get the counters here, but it is required you fly with your username on a server with YSPS/YSCHAT.

Also, welcome to ysfhq.

Thanks! I'll rack up some online flight time just as soon as I can - which has been tough, since I can't actually seem to figure out what the peak time is, UTC, for online servers. Most servers seem to be offline, and the ones that are online have no players, at the times I check the server list.

Nonetheless, I'm really happy about the reception I've got. Thanks, guys! You're all great.

If you're AEST and have daylight savings... People tend to be on around 8pm onwards and from 7am to about 12pm. I sometimes fly during the night but mostly the morning

AEST, no daylight savings. Queenslander - the best state. :P Thanks for the info! I'm malingering around TeamSpeak and WW3 now.
