Alright, several people have started filling up their dropbox folders with some stuff.

So far I have a cf-100 and an f3h in there if anyone should want to take a stab at those.

Feel free to do that :) that's why that's there for.

Now to get the ball rolling.

Anyways, here are a few of my projects that I think can work as a group effort and what remains to be done on them:
A-77 (dat, collision, coarse, paints, dnm fixes, afterburners. I have a blank I'll upload later for painting)
F2h-3 banshee (dat, collision, paint, control surface lines)
Super hustler (afterburner, collision, dat, gear, paint)
Battlestar galactica and battlestar galactica mark 1 viper (see wip thread, not yet started the bsg, started modeling the viper)
Tron aircraft (nothing, projected)
star wars a-wing fighter (projected)

Now here are some things I think could have a lot of people interested in working on:
HQP f-4 phantom (full detail)
HQP super hornet
Fiat g.91
iai Lavi
Predator c
X-47
B-36
Tu-134

anyone wanna get the team started on one of these?

I wouldn't mind doing meshes for the Predator C or X-47.
I also could get the ball rolling with the battlestar galactica ship thingy.

I'd be cool with any of those. Anyone else wanna join me and dragon in on one of these?

(my personal preference here is the battlestar since I already got started on the viper to go with it, but whatever works)

'tis been decided that I'll be starting up the X-47B, with the X-47A possibly coming along with it.

Proposal Document:
12-21-1967

International Guard Fighter Program Request for Proposals

In the spirit of international security and cooperation, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is putting forth a request for proposals for low cost fighter, with the mission of being used for patrolling of home airspaces, and mutual support in case of attack by hostile forces. The goals are fairly simple, the aircraft are to have a flyaway cost of approximately $3-5 Million USD, and weigh in the range of 15,000 to 25,000 pounds, with a good turning rate, as well as competitive acceleration and range. The aircraft is to be optimized for combat in the range of .6 to 1.6 mach at altitudes between 30,000 and 40,000 feet, as well as moderate anti ground capability. Short Take-off and Landing capability is desireable, but not mandatory.

Prototypes should be ready to fly in 1973, and ready for more in depth evaluations in 1974.
Contest Rules:
Submit a 2d Plan view and spec sheet before february 15th 2012.
Flyable prototypes modelled to HQP/GAC standards by March 15 2012.
Judging will commence in April 2012
Aircraft Performance will be calculated and implimented by the Contest commitee based on the spec sheet, plan view, and various attributes of the model. This is to insure consistent performance across the group of craft. All data must be realistic for 1975
An aircraft development story would be quite appreciated, as these will be used for the pack release thread, to give it a very authentic feeling narative. Information in the development story might also be useful in determining the performance of the airframe.

Are we talking about 3-5M in 1975 money? (Apparently 12-20M then)?

Either way that's fairly ambitious for those capabilities. Or are we talking 30-50M?

Well today I finished most of the upper surface of the X-47B. Tomorrow I'll finish the bottom half and start cutting out doors, control surfaces, etc.

All-in-all the mesh will be finished a day or two before Christmas and ready for detailing and painting.

Animation will then take place after those are done.

After the X-47B, I'll either be taking on the X-47A, Predator C / Avenger or perhaps some Battlestar Galactica stuff.

Done, although the gear door bays didn't quite match up with the rest of the model nor were there any bays for the gears to go into; I've simply made it so that the gears go up, the doors close after them and they all disappear, until you deploy the gears again.
