Re: Current Projects
So here it is, not much, but that is because I just started. I decided to use my "Trace" technique to make a pinpoint accurate model, but it's a hastle to go back and forth between Paint.net and Gepolyo.

Re: Current Projects
I decided to start something new that YSFHQ have never seen before. Now look down below the text. It's not there yet, but you will see something in a couple of hours that will blow your minds!

I did that on purpose.Taskforce 58 wrote:Slim down them panel lines!!! I'd trim them to at least half the current thickness. Over-thick panel lines has been my biggest complain about most repaint jobs ever since panel lines became the IN thing.

"Am I pretty now? Please?"
There is beauty in subtlety. Make the panel lines 1cm thick or so. not 10.
Re: Current Projects
That would be impossibly laggy. Ys doesn't handle small polygons well. You also wouldn't really be able to see them.Flake wrote:Thick panel lines remind me of try hard girls with too much lipstick on.

Re: Current Projects
Then err on the other side, and OMIT PANEL LINES ALTOGETHER, at least the less important ones, and keep only those for movable parts (on a GAC level model) like ailerons and such.Shutter wrote:That would be impossibly laggy. Seriously people, how much panel lines can you see on a real aircraft. I'm not talking about when you hold your face right up against it. How much is really noticable when you are 20 meters away?

Re: Current Projects
Edit:
@Taskforce58 - If you meant why there was only one side of panel lines, I did that because I can mirror it in the end so it only took half of the time.

Re: Current Projects
EDIT: No offense meant. There is a serious question in there. I can't think the difference would be that much.

Re: Current Projects
When I wrote "err on the other side", I didn't mean literally on the other half of the aircraft. I meant if given a choice between too thick panel lines, or having no panel lines at all, I'd prefer having no lines at all.Airbourne wrote:@Taskforce58 - If you meant why there was only one side of panel lines,
