I just started my Pitts model that I requested, but no one responded. But it's OK because just because someone doesn't want to do your work for you it doesn't mean that you can't take it into your own hands and try it yourself! It will only make you a better modder if you create your own models.

So here it is, not much, but that is because I just started. I decided to use my "Trace" technique to make a pinpoint accurate model, but it's a hastle to go back and forth between Paint.net and Gepolyo.

You can load a picture as the background in gepolyO to help you trace: File -> Open Back Image

OK, I don't wanna have to keep editing my post a million times.

I decided to start something new that YSFHQ have never seen before. Now look down below the text. It's not there yet, but you will see something in a couple of hours that will blow your minds!

Slim down them panel lines!!! I'd trim them to at least half the current thickness. Over-thick panel lines has been my biggest complain about most repaint jobs ever since panel lines became the IN thing.

Thick panel lines remind me of try hard girls with too much lipstick on.

"Am I pretty now? Please?"

There is beauty in subtlety. Make the panel lines 1cm thick or so. not 10.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

That would be impossibly laggy. Ys doesn't handle small polygons well. You also wouldn't really be able to see them.

Then err on the other side, and OMIT PANEL LINES ALTOGETHER, at least the less important ones, and keep only those for movable parts (on a GAC level model) like ailerons and such.

Seriously people, how much panel lines can you see on a real aircraft. I'm not talking about when you hold your face right up against it. How much is really noticable when you are 20 meters away?

Guys, this is what I meant. What I did was put white next to black to give it that "indent" look. Never thought of that huh? ;)

Edit:

@Taskforce58 - If you meant why there was only one side of panel lines, I did that because I can mirror it in the end so it only took half of the time.

Which is harder on the computer, a bunch of decorative lines that don't do anything, or working pieces?

EDIT: No offense meant. There is a serious question in there. I can't think the difference would be that much.

Just something I thought to whip up this morning. As you can see there are a few minor issues. ;)

When I wrote "err on the other side", I didn't mean literally on the other half of the aircraft. I meant if given a choice between too thick panel lines, or having no panel lines at all, I'd prefer having no lines at all.
