Saw this on the Fightercontrol forum and thought it was quite ridiculous...
It's called Argus One; the Pentagon's newest unmanned spy plane. But cheeky observers are already calling it the 'Flying Sperm'.
It has the capacity to carry 30 pounds of high tech sensors and cameras and the ability to hover over remote locations between 10,000 and 20,000 feet, even in rough weather.
The suspect design has been attributed to improved 'flight stability and aerodynamic control' as well as giving the aircraft a longer flight time.

I don't know how this is supposed to be a spy plane. Maybe the enemy will be laughing so hard that they don't realize that they are being spied on?The crazy things people come up with these days.

If God had wanted the army to fly, he would have made the sky brown.
If God meant man to fly, He'd have given us bigger wallets.
If God had meant for men to fly he would have made their bones hollow and not their heads.

That's so weird. If it's a balloon, which it appears to be, one lucky shot and the thing is going down. On the bright side, the materials look like it will be cheap and possible to mass produce.

You two need to realise though that this thing will be at high altitude - the reason it's been shaped like that is specifically so that it's extra stable in fast air currents up high.

If the enemy can get this thing on radar it's dead.

Good thing it's radar transparent then, although I'm not sure how an Afghani would be using a radar-guided missile, or on a low-cost recon drone.

Well obviously it can't run from fighter jets but from this picture I'm guessing they put all the high-tech sensors and cameras hidden.

The sensors and everything are just in that little box under the head of the blimp - it's seriously just an innovative unmanned blimp spy drone, like a Predator, except with a longer flight time.
