I am going to try (notice I said try) to keep this as low lag as possible so ground objects will be at a minimum.
This is not breaking my retirement I just feel it should be done. Most of the detail will be alone the flight path of 1549 until splashdown.
But it will take me some time.Since my stroke my energy levels have gone to crap.
Could always use elevation grid? Make a few generic ones at different heights and then just import them?
Also, get some Red Bull and you'll be mapping 24/7 lol

I only do .dat editing, and I love playing with .dats, and I made myself a couple of new bombers based off the stock B-52 and C-130.

The B-130 Hercules is the perfect realistic (other then bomb amount, which I will change) multi-purpose bomber. It can carry an absurd armament, with a max of 30 250lb bombs on each wing for carpeting - 60 total - and 60 500-ers in the bomb bay (I might bring it down to 30 though, 60 500- and 250-ers acts like a sack of lead on the lift of the aircraft) for precise bombing (I was inspired to do this plane after I saw Yuesr10's request, because it didn't need any work with Blender, and I suck at blender). The custom bomb amount is 20x B500 and 30x B250. The plane also has AA missiles and guns for defense in heavy combat zones, combining the purposes of the AC-130 and any conventional bomber, along with 20 AGM's. However the HRDPOINT slots for the 250'ers are in front of the wing (they spawn in midair), so I gotta somehow fix that. Can't quite seem to hit the wing with the position. Also the strength is 500, killing the realism altogether, but I will bring it down.

The B-52K (or B-53) is the ultimate hack bomber. The HRDPOINTS for the 250's are clear off the wing, ON PURPOSE, for carpeting at an EXTREME level. The strength is 500, and the gunpower is 10. I had trouble getting it in the air at first (due to its 150x(originally 300x) B250 and 80x(originally 200x) B500 load), but then I hacked it to the extreme, and made it have a maxspeed of 1500 kts. It is also as stealthy as a B-2. gunners of both bombers can attack the ground.

Still need to finish them off, however I will post them up if I can.

"realistic"? 30 per wing is quite the accomplishment for an aircraft that only has 2 hardpoints per wing.

Speaking of bomber editing, I was doing some research on the BUFF's max payload and discovered it to be 70,000 lbs of ordinance. In YS terms, that's about 140 500lbs'ers. Kuro's BUFF's can only take 66...I think I have a little work to do. Obviously, B52's probably don't carry full loads of 500lbs bombs and probably rarely even load up to max payload. I won't probably won't either but I'd love to know I had the capability to do so...

well is lifting capacity may be 70000, but it may not have the physical capacity to carry that many. as in lacking that number of hardpoints in the weapon racks. Kurosaki tends to do a good job of researching his aircraft.

B-130: 90 500-ers in bomb bay, 10 B250's on each wing. Should be enough realism. Also, the strength is down from 500 to 35.

EDIT: After hours of hard works, I ironed out all the problems on the B-130 Hercules. I redesigned everything. Now, the max payload is now 22.5 tons (45,000 lbs). The biggest fix was I fixed the B250s and missiles to the wing. Then, I added more AGMs. Then, I lowered the no. of AGMs, and put them in little pods of 4, 1 pod on each wing. Each pod has 8 AGMs. Then, I performed the pod trick on the B250s as well. Finally, I sped up the plane and lowered the armor. The gunner is still a bit problematic, but that's a tiny issue. I should be able to release it if Shutter lets me.

Here is an update to my Cocoa Beach map:

2FEB2012
  • *I added 20m thick lines[white] to represent houses, then repaint them to a better Florida-like color.
*Changed the color of the water to something more realistic, and the deep zone has a better color too.(not on the picture)
*Added beaches with gradient to the ocean.

Hm. Thick Lines as houses... Poly Vertix count significantly reduced, perfect shading at all times... Why not? It does the job, far quicker to do. I think that's a godsend idea bro! :)

Currently trying to think of a new set of A/BC-130's. The SC series is done, but I want to add more ultra-realistic versions. Any ideas? (I can't do repainting, because repainting on Mac is a pain in the butt.) Also, if anyone will let me use their C-130's to convert to A/BC-130's, that would be great.
