Hey zak, why re-invent the wheel?

Waspe has placed a beautiful YSFHQ logo in the dropbox that you could use in your map instead. ;)

just go File->Import Fld (or something like that)

and look for the dropbox folder, then ASSORTED PARTS then ysfhq_logo.fld

should do the trick.

Cracks in the pavement from the weight of the BUFF?

I dunno, but they look cool and must have taken some time to get done. Keep throwing more pics up Zak, I like what you're doing! :D

Decaff just gave me an idea... why not make a detailed runway with bumps, gradients, cracks, lights and everything?

Because bumps suck.

What would be really interesting to try and figure out would be a way to auto-generate a .fld file or .pc2 file with all the appropriate runway markings. The user inputs the colors, length, width, etc. and the program will assign the proper runway markings and make the appropriate runway. Don't forget the runway lighting which might depend on the length/width of the runway.

I have no clue about programming, but it sounds like it would be a fair challenge.

Add on tutorials, there should be one that shows how to have an object move.
Otherwise, not too bad.
