YSFHQ Squad Wars

With the combat aspect of YSFlight slowly dwindling. I am going to try to rejuvenate the fighting spirit that many users in YSFlight enjoy. The 171st had a internal squad system where the sub-squadrons would compete against each other to keep their combat skills up to par. By implementing this type of competition to the mass users on YSFHQ, the interest in YS combat may significantly increase.

Note: [s]I am currently waiting on Ice's approval to publicly release our squad maps that were for 171st use only for Squad Wars.[/s] In the mean time, we will wait about 2 weeks so members can organize their teams. You are more than welcome to create some of your own maps intended for Squad Wars, be sure to contact me for standards required in a Squad War map.

Rules:
  • 3 Players minimum are required per team.
  • 5 Players maximum allowed per team.
  • In a battle, only 3 players per team are allowed on the playing field
  • Some maps may only require one member per team to compete. If that is the case, then we will do a best out of three so each member on the team can compete.
  • Any plane of your choice may be used. Squadron planes, stock planes, etc. (As long they have reasonable .dat)
  • Teams may consist of members from different squadrons
  • Trim is forbidden in combat fights.
  • 3 flare rule not regulated.

Type of Maps
  • Slaloam- 1 member of each team try to clear ground targets before the opponent does. No respawns permitted
  • Carrier Battle- 3 vs. 3. Destroy enemy carriers while defending your own. Respawns permitted until spawn point is destroyed
  • Air Combat- 3 vs. 3 (4 vs. 4 if each team has 4 players participating) Basic air combat. No respawns. Each team starts on opposite end of map.
  • Island Capture- Similar to Carrier Battle but objective is to land on island in center heavily defended or destroy enemy spawn.

Scoring
  • Scoring system is very basic at the moment
  • Winning team earns 5 points.
  • Losing team earns 2 points.
