Post your Favorite Airliner Landings!

Post by Lazer »

Hi!

Don't know if a thread like this has been done before. Apologies if it has. I really like looking at approaches filmed from the cabin of airliners sometimes. Does anyone else have their favorites?

I'll start with an ILS for 13 at Princess Juliana. Landing an A340-313X.

Any posts welcome.

PIA got a bad reputation from me when they were banned from European Airports because of their aging fleets. Well, they're better now, but back in the day they could care less about servicing the aircraft.

Well, I guess most of you know where the landing will be at.
There Ya Go, 1:59 is the best part since it's the start of the approach and you can see my house and school.

PIA used to be a very good airline back in the day. I think it was around the 70's and 80's. Then all of a sudden, there's this big drop in their service quality but they seem to be getting better now. We've got a lot of good planes in our fleet.

Service is still rubbish though.

My uncle used them 2 years back and he said the passengers take advantage of the stewerds and stewardesses, so instead of pressing the button on the control when you need a drink, u just go to the back of the plane and help yourself, everything is open for the passengers to take (except meals and duty-free)

Really? Damn. I last flew on PIA three years ago. It was pretty good, the plane was clean inside and outside and there was no getting up and helping yourself at the kitchen. My friend went on a PIA 777 on a flight to Manchester recently, he said the service was good.

Probably this service may be in the aircraft as classic versions of the Boeing 747 -200 -300.

Yeah, there was this one time our planes were banned from entering Europe, I think.

But this is getting off topic so I'll go ahead and post another favorite landing of mine.

*insert any plane here* landing at Lukla Airport and surviving. This is a heck of a challenge for the pilot. There's the uneven landing, the fact that you'll suffer a horrible fate if you go off the runway makes landings at this airport very interesting.

Not the best camera work, but the 14R approach at KORD is directly over my house... so anything that makes that landing is a winner in my book.

Good one!

I got another cool one, a Lufthansa A380 at Palma, they even do a hose down as a tradition for new aircraft. But then they get water in the cockpit!

Here's another one, every Friday, a PIA 747 comes back from a long haul international flight. And if we departed at exactly 7:15, we always catch the same airframe making the landing as it goes right above our bus.

The 747 I'm talking about is this one:

That 's cool, your route is right by the airport!

The only way into the city is right by the Int. Airport. So I drive by the airport A LOT. It has a general aviation terminal there too.

I did have a thread a bit like this one but I've no idea what happened to it. It was less specific but accomplished the same thing. Carry on here. And to stay on topic...

You have to be talented or stupid to land here.
