"And ye shall rise from the dead!"

Shall we get this thread going again? Let's pick up where we left off, shall we?

The Backfire has swept wings, capable of faster than sound flight, and a deadly arsenal of bombs missiles enough to ruin anyone's day.

However, great things do come from small beginnings. In WW2, the aircraft company made a vital contribution to the Russian war effort by making Tu-2 medium bombers. It's a very flexible aircraft, capable of dive bombing, doing torpedo runs and even as a heavy fighter.

The Northrop P-61 Black Widow was another twin engine piston aircraft in World War II, but it served a very different purpose, and was the first aircraft to be designed to use radar.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my signature, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular lack of skills, skills I have imagined having over a very long career. Skills that make me are completely useless in any situation. If you stop reading now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't stop reading, I will look for you, I will probably not find you, and I will kill your refrigerator.

I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Another one of Antonov's successful designs was the An-12 Cub. Used widely by third world countries since it's debut.
