[IMPROV] Calibration Cockpits P40 and Su-27

Post by ysmajor » Sun Oct 06, 2013 3:27 am

Hi all,

I'm trying the new YSUpload system here for the first time.
Looking pretty good and user-friendly. Fantastic idea and execution by Wingzfan99 there!

The addon is a replacement of the rudder, throttle and stick with the horrible blue screen that you see when beginning a mission.
When overwriting these files you will see a cockpit of either a P-40 or an Su-27 depending of preference:

Then moving the joystick you will see movement, and rudder and throttle also move as they should.
Only silly thing is that the sky moves down when it should be going up, and vice-versa. Couldn't think of a way to get that right as the stick and scenery are part of the same SRF and limited animation was possible.

Hope this Upload thing works!

Is it just me, or are those more detailed than the in-flight addon versions?

Hi! Glad you like it!

The background picture is actually a 2D SRF connected to the stick. This is how it 'moves'... only in the opposite direction.

Maybe a more detailed and interesting background SRF could be made. And the A-10 cockpit would be awesome as it is one of the more detailed ones out there. Any suggestions for detailed cockpits that would be cool to have anyone?

Took it out for a test and it is prettier than I expected, really cool thing you did here, Major. Thanks to you now I'll probably be spending a few more seconds playing around with these pits before embarking on the actual flight. :)

Glad to see you're back Major. I can't believe how clever this addon is. Looks very nice as well.
I make this website.

I had no idea this was possible! I think I'll play around with this as much as a Skyrim loading screen!

It's not working for me somehow. I replaced the rudder.dnm, joystick.dnm and so on, but they didn't seem to work for me. Please help :(

Hi DT,

I'd like to help, but I'm in Shanghai.
Can you put up a screenie or a more bulletpoint step by step description of what you see when you start up?

Hear from ya soon!

My root YSF files have been infected with a self replicating virus recently, had to completely reinstall YsFlight. But almost all of the files are safe now, thnx to some tinkering here and there. But it also replaced the misc folder with the default one. So, if anyone could kindly reupload this since YSU seems to be down atm.
