Looking good man! Don't forget to PM those HQP-GAC Migs to me! They are looking awesome.
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my signature, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular lack of skills, skills I have imagined having over a very long career. Skills that make me are completely useless in any situation. If you stop reading now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't stop reading, I will look for you, I will probably not find you, and I will kill your refrigerator.

They on Dropbox already. Download them from my Dropbox folder, complete with blanks, dat, dnm, coll and cockpits.

Added TF58's 747 turbine fans with his permission. Also added main fuel tank and more spikey little lightning dissipators on the elevators and rudder. Thrust reversers as well.

Transparency for the lights: SLOWLY gradients down from 254 at the farthest point, one step at a time. keep the color the same. Trust me I'm an engineer, etc. etc.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

The colour is the same. The entire landing light srf is a transparency. I split it into 6, then assigned ZA values of 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180. It's just Blender bitching up and giving that nasty peep-hole effect.

Been busy of late...

Main gears are done. Wheels and body have had subsurf applied.
Image
Ailerons and inner flaps are completed and rotated.
Image
Rebuilt the wing as well to accommodate the gear doors.

looks good.

Just be careful with the subsurfs. you don't want to explode the number of verticies and lag up the model. ;)

Been very busy...

I've only managed to start on the nose gear. Most of it is done, though. Including the lamps for the gear lights.

Nose gear lamps are done.
Image
Also started animating the dnm
and then
I noticed that I missed out on lots of things
but still
Image
Image
As you can see, the left wing is done, complete with flaps, ailerons, spoilers and slats. The wing will be edited later (I hate the slats now).
Also, thrust reverser animation is complete, and so is the rudder.
One little tid-bit:
There is an inner aileron that works only when the flaps are down (I think), so I went ahead and made one.
So, when flaps are up:
Image
The aileron doesn't move.
But when flaps are down:
Image
The aileron moves accordingly.
Gear and gear door animation are also complete.

Things to patch:
The actuators for the flaps.
Image
Gear bay (yep just realised that)
Image
And a nose gear bay and doors.

So, more progress on the DC-10-30...

Gear bays are done (though the other parts had to be redone).
Image
You might notice the left and right main gear doors aren't working anymore, as I remade them from scratch to accommodate the gear bays. The flaps were also redone for the same reason.
Actuators for the flaps are also finished.
Image
In the actual aircraft, the flaps pivot around these actuators, so...
Image
Image
Yep, they are now connected, instead of just floating there.
Its pretty cool, IMO. :D

Looks amazing. My only suggestion for the flaps, is for there to be a little piece about mid-mover that connects the two halves of the mover. Sorta like the 737s.

I think that little piece would add a lot of bang for the vertex. ;)

With that aside, let me go find my eyebrows and jaw...they're around here somewhere...I hope. :D

You know I'm always excited when someone's making a brand new detailed model of an aircraft and this time's no exception.

Just a few tips if I may:
-if you can, adjust the front of the #1 and #3 engine cowlings so that they don't taper as much, like in this shot. They're almost flat.
-it might just be the screenshot playing tricks on me, but the gear *might* need to be a bit taller

I know you are trying your best on this so no criticism here, just some things to do if you can, no worries either way :).

My general rant: I will call them blended winglets, not Sharklets; There is no CEO, it's just simply put, an Airbus 319/320/321, or the 320NEO, 321NEO etc. I didn't land IN DAL, I landed AT DAL. On the other hand, I did land in Dallas.

The flaps are almost done, just need a few edits here and there...
Image
With that almost complete, the DC-10-30 blank is nearing completion.
Also added some landing lights
which exploded the dnm size
Image
They are small, but noticeable.
