Relatively new pilot looking for a good squadron

Post by kiwiflieger »

Hi guys,
I've been on Ysflight 1 year now and recently signed up for YSFHQ. I wondered if there were any squadrons out here in the Australasia area who would be willing to take me on.
Please give it some consideration,

It was history a long time ago m8. There are several squads, like mine, the 57th, which is in quite a need of personnel, but there are no squads based in Oceania, or the time zones in it.

Hmm. Well, thank you for your research. I might be able to join some other American based squadron.

Yah it is history. At our peak we had about 10-12 folks, with a few AAFC CUO's and and a FSGT as well.

We've retired now but I am happy to share whatever knowledge I have.

Next closest SQN I think would be the 323rd, give them a look up. Contact Dan or Dave about that.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

The 8th TFS Grun is also looking for members, although being based in the US, we're somewhat flexible.

I mean, if i can be on at the same time as Nightraven, then we're a possible match. But then again, the 323rd has more members. And we consist of only 2 members, only me if you count those not in other squadrons. (AC Colonel is one of the leaders of the SARF, but I deem the Grun as allies of SARF, however, i don't know what they think of us.)

Hello Kiwicommando, I'm here to just let you (and everyone) know, that the 323rd is currently not flying. The 323rd is not flying because most of our members are currently studying for education and their future careers, myself included. The squadron is quiet and training and activities have stopped and will remain that way through the summer until members have more free time to fly. I suggest you take a look at the squadrons on offer, they are all very great squadrons. Good luck on choosing your future squadron Kiwicommando!

You should take a look into SARF. We're for hire and help the community by protecting it from conflict and supporting other squads.

The VFA-49 is super small but always looking for new members and to bounce back. We have some pretty cool jets and a large variety of things to do. We're reinventing our training program to be less of a headache and more useful. Contact myself or Stingx for more information.

Wow, there are lots of squadrons out there. I'll consider my choice of squad, or I might just wait for the next opportunity.

Thanks,
