DT's Stash House

Post by Kujo » Sat Jun 21, 2014 8:06 pm

Welcome to my workplace. Here you will find multiple updates of what I'm currently working on, or planning to work on in the near future. I have made so many maps and some have not been completed that I decided to make a project thread about it. Hope that I get those projects done one way or another! :)

This is the current list of what's been going on:

Majkop Air Base: Done! http://forum.ysfhq.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... =999999999
Another fictional map that is located in the big village of Majkop, Russia. Original ideas and plans arrived from the popular simulator, LOMAC with all of their nice looking ramps and air bases.

---------------------

Minot Air Force Base: Done! http://forum.ysfhq.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... not#p75936
A United States military air base located in North Dakota, just on the top of Minot itself. This'll be a tricky one due to the scaling and tons of roadblocks the new 2013 Scenery Editor gives. I'll give it a shot anyway

---------------------

Boulder City, NV: Processing
A decently small town located near Las Vegas. This map shall be made complete showing most of Boulder including the little Executive Airport located left of the city.

---------------------

Travis Air Force Base: Not Started
A very huge streched out air base known to be the home of large cargo aircraft and tanker/refueling aircraft such as the KC-135. This will also be a big project because of the stuff I had left over since the first release.

---------------------

Neueslicht / Cloven Airport: Processing
A nice little fictional airport that is located in the hot deserts of Fictionland (so cheesy :P ). I have some of it completed already, and I just need some more buildings and Elevation grids to get it on it's way.

---------------------

Belbek Air Base: Done! https://www.mediafire.com/?yfcjzdd958ma2ej
Belbek is a smaller base than Majkop planned to be a home of many Su-25 Frogfoots. It is located near the center of Ukraine. (I have another HQ member helping me with this project, so once he's finished it will be released ;) )

---------------------

Majkop v2.0: Processing
Another fictional map that is located in the big village of Majkop, Russia. The update will include new looks to the military dispersals, parking ramp lines and bigger scaling. (To get the first version, click the first download link on top of this post)

---------------------

Woensdrect Air Base: Processing
An airbase which is located in the Netherlands, where tons of F-16s and other units of the RNLAF are based at. This has been added to the list because of a version before that was lost on my old laptop. This next one should be better than the first.

Now that all that information is let out, let's get to the first update already

Remember, there is more and more projects to come from me. I'll try to update on this topic every once and a while and I hope once they are released, you can enjoy 'em. :)

Well, a huge effort in making this one. Took me a little over an hour for this one to get the right scaling and size, but in the end it came out looking good.

Thanks, Barracuz. Thanks and sorry at the same time :P I just had to do it when no one seemed to take it seriously.

Boulder City is lookin' mighty fine so far! Scaling is right and the city itself is a good size. For the rest, I'll try to make it as less laggy as I can possibly have it at. This took me half of today:

So this is the newest little project I am working on. Right now, it has some detail and some cool features. Thanks goes out to TF58 for the ground objects :)

--- EDIT 10:27 PM 6/23/14 ---

So now I have made Hardenshelters out of Elevation grids. With a help to my export and import skills, I got all of these:

Now the thing I have problems with is getting STP's in. When I try to insert a start position, it pulls up the "there Were Errors." box. So this is an oppertunity to ask you guys for something.

Anyone wanna help with the stps?

Are you using the recent test editor? If so run it as admin and that should solve it.

If not I could help you. Just write down the places/ coordinates where you want them.

You can make your start positions with a text editor. It isn't the best or fastest way, but it's possible.

Thanks for the comments and advice, guys.

Majkop 2.0 is already in progress, along with Belbek on hold. I just have to get an stp file from someone and Belbek will be finished :)

---EDIT 10:23 PM 6/25/2014---

I have some runway gridding going on now. It shouldn't take too long because I have it saved to be imported multiple times instead of always making separate lines =)

Woensdrecht is on it's way to be released this Saturday! This is what the base looks like prior today:

Interesting background undulations between green and is that brown? Looks like you are having fun with the color gradations and it's looking good!

Not to give away any secrets but if you click off ground texture this is what you get depending on your individual graphics card.No gradation needed but be warned some colors my get a little weird depending on your light source settings and view angle. This only apply s to a selected ground color not polygons.
