Florida mhmm.. we're experiencing that every other day, if not day by day.

All summer has been very nice and cool, most days around 68-75F... in fact, I don't think we have had a day where the temps were above 95F.

Ohio, btw.

It's stupid hot and humid around here and barely any rain. And if it does rain, it become a steamy, undesirable sauna and becomes even hotter. Would like some rain to wash away that sticky feeling the air has lately. Can't wait until the weather starts to cool down. But seeing as I'm in the deep south, sometimes Winter gets cancelled and it stays early fall hot through cold season.

Some rain is expected to fall today (20140818) but probably pass by my area before any rain fallen. Storms usually stick around downtown.

Well like I was saying it can still get hot from late August through September here and the upper 90s/low 100s have returned. We got some rain though the past few days which was nice. Another opportunity for rain will come next week.

--------------------------------------------

UPDATE Sep. 10, 2014:

'Tis the season of the cold frontal passages and the first one is about to come in, with rather cool air this time of year (as in what made Calgary get snow a few days back). Nothing that cold will be coming in though, still highs in the 50s and 60s seem likely on Friday. With it some more rain, then temps will start climbing back to more seasonal levels.

The summer in my area was much the same. We normally have ~16-20 days of over 90F, but this year we had something like 5 days. Quite nice!

^Personally, I don't mind hot weather (coming from a tropical country myself) but I'm sure a lot of people here wouldn't mind a summer with only 5 days of 90F+ high temps. Three summers ago we had over 60 days of 100F+ readings (total), which was a bit too much even for me. But this one was a nice summer here too compared to what we've had in recent past (2012 and 2011). Lots of rain off and and on too.

Well the season's (or pre-season's to be more precise) second cold front is just about to pass through. Yesterday a high of 89F, today 75F. Early morning storms followed by more storms later this morning which was welcome rain. Now come the howling north winds!

Yesterday we had a high of 91 degrees, today 88F. Yes it is October 9th and it can get much warmer than that around here. Of course it being October we're getting into the season of frequent weather changes with frontal passages so it's no surprise that we're expecting some heavy rain tonight/tomorrow (the remnants of the tropical system that affected Baja California last week combined with a cold front passing through), followed by a high of 62 on Saturday, then back up to 76 on Sunday with another cold front passing and more storms expected. The rain is welcome news no doubt.

-- Fri Oct 10, 2014 3:09 pm --

Currently: 66F with a thunderstorm; heavy rain and I saw some neat cloud-to-ground lightning bolts.

-- Sun Oct 12, 2014 10:25 pm --

Well we have an approaching squall line from the west; severe storms with 50-60mph winds, heavy rain, near-continuous lightning yada, yada. Should be a good light show! Should also keep some people awake at night :P. Tomorrow: winds NW at 20-30 mph with gust over 40mph. Cloudy, damp and cool/cold depending on POV. High temp of 60F after today's 76F. Welcome to Fall in the southern plains.

Today we had about 66 degrees F. It looked like it was going to rain all day but never did.

Whoa... that is indeed a sight for a tropical country like Malaysia. I'm sure it stunned the locals!

The first cold air mass is coming in (pre-season anyway).

So today the high will be around 75F, then the cold front will come in later this evening and temps will quickly drop to 40F in a matter of an hour and half or so. Tomorrow morning: around 32F. We have a freeze warning in effect. This cold air mass will stick around for a while too. That's it for the growing season people.

yikes! that sounds like a horrifyingly rapid cold snap. The weather in my area has been bipolar for a few weeks switching every couple days. Either low 30s with 15+mph winds or right around 60 and sunny.

Heh, this is actually pretty common for these parts, especially during the Fall. One time it dropped 80-something degrees in 24 hours.

The temperature has dropped rather unseasonably from a balmy 87 in the morning to a chilly 44 in about two hours, and will stay that way for the rest of the week with some nights being dangerously close to the NWS issuing Freeze Warnings.

Had an interesting fog bank roll in last night. I was walking a friend back to her dorm and all of a sudden it looks and smells like I'm in a science museum fog machine!
