I present to you all, Mt. Chiliad. I did some research and found it is about 525 meters tall. It is difficult to replicate all the little twists and turns on the trails going up the mountain, so I just made them the best I could.

I've got an interesting problem. I crash into the mountain, even though I am clearly well above the mountain. It's like hitting an invisible wall.

^Same thing happens in the Wagner map, when you try to drive under the bridge that connects the main terminal to the concourse, you hit an invisible wall and yeah... I'm guessing it has to do with showing/hiding the elevation grid faces but I dunno.

When building structures with .ter you have to treat them like building blocks if you want them to be interactive.Like your connective bridge Turbo.Make the bridge than raise the bridge to the desired height than do the show/hide grid faces and if you can see under it.Its good. But the bottom of the bridge must be above the zero level in order for anything to pass under it.As for your problem Pat I think it may be the same except in the opposite direction.

Moving along until I can figure out what went wrong with my elevation grid...

These things will be spread around the desert near the abandoned air strip. they have an inside diameter of 100m, but I might shrink them once I get them in the game.

The Wagner map isn't mine, it was made by another member way back in the YSP days. But I see wha you're saying, thanks for the insight! I'll use that in my forthcoming map.

I did everything I could think of to fix that mountain, but it just wouldn't work. My suggestion: Only fly a helicopter on that thing.

Laying down some ground maps. I've read about how small San Andreas really is, but I didn't expect it to be this small. Looking from one corner diagonally at the other.

It's nearly impossible to replicate both the hills and roads, so I'm going to leave the cities pretty much flat. Tunnels are more or less impossible, too, so the train is going to have to be above ground inside Los Santos. I remodeled Chiliad so it is safe to fly off the top. Good luck driving up or down the trails, though. :?
