New to YS Flight! Saying hello!
I have been on the Teamspeak now for almost an hour. Been welcomed by a lot of really cool guys! I love it so far.
I have been a flight simulator enthusiast and virtual pilot for about 8 years now, since 2006. I started on Flight Simulator 2004, and then moved to Flight Simulator X. I used these simulators for years, and recently in the last year have stopped using FS9 and FSX. I have flown hundreds of hours on VATSIM and other virtual flying networks. Recently, I have downloaded YS Flight, and one thing that I am starting to get used to is the simplicity! It is so much easier to get in and start flying, it doesn't take 30 minutes of flight planning, weather charts, downloading approach plates, etc. I can get in, and fly. I am looking for some nice aircraft and scenery, and utilities. I downloaded Major Pack 1 and like what I see (however, I get a few errors on start up).
Not to ramble though! I like what I see so far, and look forward to getting involved and becoming a contributing member of the community!!
Safe skies.

Nice to hear you got my pack and like it.
Gotta say your post makes me want to fix my stuff up more.
Those few errors got to be annoying for people.
Problem is I live in China and dont use a VPN.
So google, blogspot, youtube and what have you are no-go on internet.
Now with HK acting up its worse than ever. Yahoo blocked too.
(blocking crappy news... guess it wasnt that crappy)
anyway, hello av8tor!
(in case youre wondering, yes YSupload works well for the upcoming A-26 Invader!)

Re: New to YS Flight! Saying hello!
I am looking around at some packages and have found some very cool stuff. One thing that I have wondered about is, are there more addons that add things like more complex navigation (like autopilot navigation to VORs and Navaids), or more detailed maps, etc? Anything on the User Interface side?

You can use any VOR, ILS, etc. that are placed in a map for navigation. I think there are a few maps around that have realistic placement of such things. There is a topic on here somewhere that shows how to use the navigation systems in YS.

Straight level flight
circle at constant altitude
take off
land
if you are within range of the VOR then it will show up in the navigation menu (forget the key atm). Set it as you target and you can then match headings and set the level autopilot.
