Introducing the Red Saints' Blood Falcon

Post by KDFire »

I posted a picture of this thing last month or so, but then nothing else happened with it until recently.

This demo is going to be done by SantiXgoIV, who some of us know as the new exec commander of TF51. And let's just say that this isn't your normal F-16C demo.
(video thanks to jdog)

You can't even get the designation right? That's a Mitsubishi F-2...

We know this. SantiX labelled it as an F-16 anyway.
(Besides, the F-16 and F-2 are very much aside from some minor improvements.)

It really makes a difference in YS, where you can barely tell the difference.

And Zak,
This video was recorded by jdog during one of my first showcases of it, when the Blood Falcon's demo routine was still in early development. It's been refined a good bit since this...but you'll have to wait until an upcoming airshow to see where it's really gone ;)

"My worst enemies are those who presume me to be harmless. They cannot imagine how much I resent and disdain them, or just how great a threat they would face if I could get at them. Everything in their behavior speaks of insult and presumptuousness, and for now it is all I can do to make constructive use of my anger toward them. At this time, I just make a list of them and keep a watch on. Some day, with the help of time, space, and circumstance, I will be able to humiliate them properly - not in a manner they would enjoy, but in a style calculated to make them wish that they had never been born."

Can this not become a debate on whether it's an F-16 or F-2...?

If you care THAT much, I can rename it. Sheesh.

Alright, yes, the differences between the F-16C and F-2 are significant, but the error could have been pointed out with considerably more grace. The F-2 is an evolutionary development of the Falcon line, which is close enough for most.

In any case, good luck with the display. My eye is not trained enough to judge YS airshow flying, but it's good to see folks taking an interest.

I had no idea that there was that much of a difference. Then again, I have never had much interest in aviation. ;)

VintiXgoIV, person's whose name I cannot even begin to pronounce, I do think you would put on a good show, but there's a few considerations I'd have if you were signing up for one of my events. You seem to like flying fast (saw the indicated at over 530kts) and close to the show line. Typically, we don't usually have a lot of flying over the crowd as it is generally not something we aim to have at air shows. I'd just basically recommend slowing the passes down a bit. From the ground, all you see is a really fast jet going back and forth, which isn't all that entertaining from the perspective of someone just watching.

Anyways, I like it because it's unique and different. Best of luck and hope to see you at an air show soon!

Like I said...I aim to not do those things.
Thing about the Blood Falcon is that its dat file was, for some reason, modified to give it the engine thrust of an F119...which I never understood, but that's why I now try to keep the AFTB off.

And for those of you who think this is going to be another F-2/F-16/whatever demo in the field, THINK AGAIN.
I took it out a few minutes ago and did a few crazy things with it (which are probably going to end up in the final routine) just to prove that. If you want to see the replay of it, take it.

I know it seems unprofessional in this replay, but that was simply because I couldn't bother to do things very properly outside of practice.
(And you'll need the Cherokee Valley map to view this, just fyi.)

...HAHAHAHAHA, no.
Ray had nothing to do with the development of this demo. Me and my friend devised it.

That was partially-free-flying I was doing as a sort of introduction for jdog. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

There's no need to offend people performances because of their style of flying being different than yours. I think this will be an interesting display and bring variety to the show line-up, using ysflights lack of realism may be good.

Just a small tip for you, dont make it too serious, but still make it a good display, this could be a good laugh and could be quite interesting! Good Luck!
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my signature, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular lack of skills, skills I have imagined having over a very long career. Skills that make me are completely useless in any situation. If you stop reading now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't stop reading, I will look for you, I will probably not find you, and I will kill your refrigerator.
