This is working way too well. Something has to break soon.

Fully loading YSFlight Scenery into the server now - all ground objects loaded as well as start positions. That's all we need for now!

Already receiving connections on it's own. There is no packet logic yet though - that's what will make the server work.
But, hold your butts, because that is the LAST STEP in the program. I did not expect this to go so quickly.
What you see here is the server receiving packets, using a generic packet framework (rather then the mess I had in Orb) to build a packet quickly from raw data, that all future special packets will share in common. The first line of trash is the log on packet a client sends, the other ones below it are heartbeats.
So, I now need to write up handlers for packets and I'm done.

Would this get rid of distance lag? or at least minimize it? Nice work though.OfficerFlake wrote:

I actually made the coal car during summer break and the engines I modified from my CSX GEVO model. Didn't take long.

Still need to handle: Chat messages, Join Requests, Entity Joined, Entity Leaves.
Hopefully that's done tomorrow. Then the server will be completely bare bones.
I'm pretty sure I don't need to do aircraft performance packets to get it to work at a barebones level but if I do that could take a few days.
Login is incredibly fast: <1sec for OpenYS vs 8sec for Vanilla YSFlight.

The "unknown packet" is actually just a keep alive signal that i'm ignoring for now. relax...

OPEN YS INITIAL TEST

It can't really do anything but log you in so far. you won't be able to join flight or chat but you should be able to go observer an look around the scenery. No ground objects added yet. It's really, really basic. Give it a go and see how easy it is to run and how much faster login time is for yourself.
