Taking a break

Post by Mobiyus » Sun Apr 12, 2015 4:24 am

Thank you guys for the support. Good news, he found a full time job. We can start managing debts now. I'm confident everything can be cleared within 2 months.

@Patrick lol I'm not worried I'm nearly always there when he uses the computer and Space Engineers is the only thing that interest him anyway.

@Gunny Thank you, very wise and true as always when you speak Gunny. I sure hope I will be an enabler for him.

New set-back... the guy totalled his car after coming back from his night shift :x He fell asleep while driving... He's fine but my wallet is not. I'm now working from 6am to 7pm for the next 2 weeks.

WHY ARE YOU PAYING FOR HIS CAR AND FUCKUP?

Kick him out bro. You're insane.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. I find myself in agreement with Flake on this one Mobiyus. His financial disasters are not your responsibility in any way. This does not bode well for you.

Sorry to be blunt but take a step back and think about this. He's using you for all you're worth! That's not the kind of "Friend" I would be keeping around. Pack his shit into boxes and send him on his way, and don't lose sleep at the thought of that guy who abused your friendship sleeping on the streets.

I am very nice to people, but sometimes people can be too nice if they don't watch it. I have done in the past and people take advantage of you easily and don't stand for it Mobiyus. Like the other guys said he is not being a good friend and kick him out! You can still be friends with him, but don't let him live off of you because its not working out and hes doesn't know how to appreciate it.
You feed my machine guns, so as I would say, "I AM GONNA EAT YOU!"

You don't have a friend. You have a sibling. ;)

Taking a break

From what I wrote it's true it does look like he's using me, but he obviously didn't want to end up in the ditch. I was very angry when I posted that last message and solutions were yet to be found at this moment. Today, it got better. His sister is gonna sell him her old car, and HE IS going to pay her when he will be able to. We're in the tax report period up here in Canada and he will soon get a tax return from the government. That's going to pay for the car. For the tow truck we needed, well, good thing his first paycheck just got in this night and it's just enough to pay for it. So all in all, this mishap isn't going to cost me now after all. It will cost me in the long run tho cuz he will need to stay for a bit longer before flying from his own wings (would be about time, the guy is 25, I'm 27 btw. I don't think i ever mentionned my age before lol)

@Flake you were not blunt that's fine. I get what you all say.
@Patrick Yes, exactly. I am indeed doing a father's job. It's my turn to give it a try for now (but NOT forever, no no no NO). His parents, family and other friends tried their best without success.

I can't kick him out now, I've know him for over 15 years, he is genuily a good guy, he just makes really, really poor life choices. If I kick him out now, all progress made will be lost. I'm slowly convincing him to seek psychological help, cuz that's the real source of the problem. His inner demons prevent him from moving forward in life and pursue his passions. Only professionnal help may resolve this. I can't do shit for this. That's what I meant by ''learning fishing''. I'm helping him for a few months, this one time. It won't happen again in the future as long as he doesn't seek psychological help.

I'm also doing this for me. It's been so long since my little boring life got upset, I wanted to know if I was still able to ''take significant actions in life'' once again. (yes I can!)

This episode is over. The guy moved out and my Space Engineers rage somewhat diminished. Expect racing to come back.
